Rape - Ritual resistance.

Rape.
The word itself causes the well known knee jerk response. Recently there were several assault rapes in the course of a few nights in Oslo. This received massive media attention and girls all over town got a microphone shoved in their faces with the following question: Are you afraid? Fuelling the fire of fear and contributing to the mass hysteria. Men used Twitter, Facebook and commercial media to proclaim that they were taking a stand against rape, to prove their evolution from primal to intellectual man. Some even claimed that rape was all men's responsibility. To make things even more heated, the police published a research report on rape, documenting that women subjected to rape consistently had very high levels of intoxication. They linked this to a party culture, a more experimental sexuality among younger people, and urged girls to take precautions.

This enraged feminists, and the same old mantra "Rape is never the girl's fault" conjured up a storm of debates, blogs and in social media in general. The message was clear: Girls can go anywhere, wear whatever, and be as intoxicated as they please. The police report was, in their eyes, in fact suppressing women. Limiting women from free speech, free movement and free dress code if you will.

The interesting side of this is a related to the concept of "ritual resistance". Catherine Bell's "Ritual theory ritual practice" is a fitting book for this subject. Through the use of internalized rituals of resistance the feminists are attempting to alter the load bearing structures of our consensual reality matrix. This is a thought that lends itself to postmodern ideology and indeed philosophically back to Schopenhauer. What I mean by that is that the feminists are trying to exorcise the patriarchal cultural structures of fear, on an individual level. They are doing this by using techniques well known from fascism and religion: preaching and coercing. I want to point out that I am not talking about the radical feminists. I am talking about the standard feminists, who, on a subconscious level, have unwittingly adopted some of the radical feminists' ideas - such as phallogocentrism. The rapist is a symbol of suppression, the very manifestion of the oppressive patriachy. And the feminists strongly believe that their ideology will A: protect them from harm, B: exorcise, by numbers, danger, and C: by subjecting their follower to danger, provide evidence that their analysis is true. Simply put: They are "commanding" girls to place themselves in dangerous situations, using them as feminists suicide bombers if you will, to win the fight against the oppressor: The rapist, the man.

I want to make clear that feminists are not placing other women and themselves at risk knowingly. This is, as mentioned, a post modern and intellectual narrative. No amount of intellectualism will protect you from penetration. A feminist manifesto will not protect you from the realities of violence, and raising your fist in the air, post rape, proclaming "I went where I wanted, and I proved my point" will not reduce the impact of the assault. This is important: feminist ideology must be adjusted according to the realities.

Personally I see it as harmful to override intuition. Humans have natural reactions to potentially dangerous situations. The media, and feminists in specific, are coercing girls to override this vital instinct. I counter those feminists by saying: do not place yourself in locations and/or situations your intuition tells you to stay away from. An antelope will not tell itself to get it's act together on the Serengeti once it senses a lion. The antelope will run to safety. If we as humans don't learn from our experiences, we will place ourselves in harm's way over and over again. Placing oneself, and/or others in harm, is highly irrational and will never alone eliminate the scource of danger and/or fear.

A rapist is an individual, with his (or her) personal and mental problems. Rape is not about sex, it is about exercising power, about trauma, about frustration, violence and anger. I want to draw a parallell to serial killers who, interestingly, have evolved from primal murder to existential murder: "The only thing I ever wanted was to kill god." The serial killer is, by his actions, trying to punish socity as a whole, not realizing that society consists of individuals. These feminists are using the same technique: By declaring a war on rapists. Not realizing that rapists are indeed individuals and not, as mentioned, the manifistation of patriarchal oppression.
This is also an interesting point to make, when the fight against victimizing women is the very core of feminist ideology.

Teaching women self defence, educating the young about dangers of alcohol and focusing on communication and how to stand up to peer pressure would be a praised project. I want to point out that according to the police rapport 12,9 % were assault rapes, while 33,3 % were party related rapes and 100% of the rape cases reported involved alcohol. That is the reality and those are the facts we need to relate to. In a modern society there will be violence. As long as we have class society and class seperation, there will be violence. As long as the lingering trauma caused by colonialism affects the world, there will be violence. You would not tell the women in Rwanda, during the genocide, "you have the right to go to the marked in spite of those guys with machetes". Adjust to danger. Even though I aplaude actions such as groups following girls home at night, and even the well known "Take back the night"-actions, none of those will end rape, or help the individual suffering from mental disorders and/or trauma.

Human society breeds violence and we as humans must adjust accordingly, not by becoming paralyzed by the reality of violence, but by adapting to it, learning from it and through constant vigilance be better equipped to face the modern and dangerous world.

Hvem svikter barna?

Jan Bøhler uttalte seg følgende i Aftenposten: "De som går mot datalagringsdirektivet svikter barn som utsettes for overgrep. Det er veldig alvorlig, vi risikerer at Norge blir en honningkrukke for de som bedriver internettrelatert kriminalitet."

Denne uttalelsen var å lese på nett sammen med Kripos sine emosjonelle, og ikke minst politiske, utspill i kjølvannet av en "pedofiliring" Europol har avdekket. Overskriftene var ikke overraskende tabloide, med tykke fonter og ord som trigger ryggmargsrefleksen hos de aller fleste. Kripos fikk oversendt en rekke trafikkdata og står igjen med 34 norske IP-addresser. Dette blir vinklet til at 34 norske pedofile kom seg unna Kripos sine klør. Dette til tross for at Kripos ikke kan bevise at IP-'ene "peker mot like mange unike personer." Det er noe ganske annet enn "34 pedofile". Disse menneskene som har vært inne på denne siten av uvisse grunner er ikke identifisert, de er altså ikke tiltalt, dømt eller har fått en klinisk diagnose stilt av en fagperson. Men Kripos vet å manipulere.

Så har vi Jan Bøhler. Han sier altså at de som er mot DLD svikter barn som utsettes for overgrep. Denne uttalelsen provoserte meg så grundig at jeg sendte Bøhler en mail der jeg i tydelige ordlag forklarte ham hvor langt han gikk over streken. Selvsagt uten å få svar. Jeg vil tro alle som jobber for å få stanset DLD lar seg provosere. De fleste er etablerte med barn. Ingen foreldre tar lett på at en politiker anklager dem for å svikte barn som utsettes for overgrep. Mine tanker går da spesielt til de som er profilerte DLD-motstandere i media. Hvilke signal sender Bøhler til deres barn? Det er en virkelig uheldig og korttenkt uttalelse av en politiker.

Hvorfor ble jeg personlig så provosert? Jeg har ikke barn. Jeg har derimot jobbet med sårbare barn i 9 år. Jeg har erfaring fra psykiatrien, fra skole, fra barneboliger og avlastninger. Og i motsetning til Bøhler har jeg jobbet tett med barn som har blitt utsatt for overgrep. Vi snakker om seksuelle overgrep, vold og omsorgssvikt. Vi snakker også om svikt i systemet fra barnevern, fylkesmenn, kommuner, ledere og kollegaer. Jeg har i løpet av mine 9 år sett mer elendighet og tragiske historier enn jeg egentlig makter å ta innover meg. Og tro meg når jeg sier at ingen av disse overgrepene ble dokumentert på nett. Disse overgrepene skjedde hjemme hos barnet, i instutisjonene, de ble utført av mødre og fedre, av nattevakter, av feige ekstravakter, av tafatte ledere, av grådige kommuner og fylkesmenn som er mere opptatt av regler. Jeg kan med hånden på hjertet si at jeg ved et par tilfeller har hatt et sterkt behov for å sette meg i en bil med barnet og forsvinne. Fordi disse overgrepene får lov til å fortsette nettopp pga regler politikere som Bøhler er med på å lage.
Så hvem svikter barna, Bøhler?

Jeg har taushetsplikt og kan derfor ikke uttale meg om spesifikke saker. Jeg kan uttale meg generelt. Jeg kan si at jeg har jobbet med en minoritetsgruppe som er så politisk betent at ingen ville gripe inn i saken. Vi i skolen skrev bekymringsmeldinger, jeg jobbet dobbelt i boligen der brukeren bodde for å trygge i en kritisk fase og boligen skrev bekymringsmeldinger, støttekontakten som hadde kjent bruker fra hun kom til landet skrev bekymringsmeldinger. Ingenting ble gjort for å stanse at denne brukeren ble tvangsflyttet fra en trygg bolig til families kommune. Det var en total politisk sperre. Og jeg var vitne til at et barn, så totalt ødelagt, gav opp alt håp.
Så hvem svikter barna, Bøhler?

Jeg vil si litt om Chilling Effect ved innførelse av DLD. Jeg har iløpet av mine 9 år i dette yrket, vært vitne til at folk vegrer seg for å melde fra. De er usikre, nervøse og ønsker ikke lage trøbbel for seg selv, brukeren, familien, lederen eller andre som er involvert. Jeg har ved flere anledninger gått videre med grove episoder jeg har vært vitne til på arbeidsplassen, men som har rent ut i sanden. I kommunen er det tette bånd mellom ledere og det er svært vanskelig å nå frem med slike saker. Vi ser at overflytting er å foretrekke fremfor oppsigelse. Så flytter man overgripere fra etat til etat. Og det er en selvsagt hysj hysj-mentalitet som råder. Unge ekstravakter er redd for å miste jobben, de er redde for å ikke få en god referanse, de er redde for at om de sier fra vil det slå tilbake på dem i fremtiden. Jeg forstår dem, men resultatet er at grove brudd på Kapittel 4A får fortsette og barn som ikke kan forsvare seg fysisk eller verbalt er og forblir ofre. Så hva vil DLD føre til?

Da jeg var ung jobbet min tante på et krisesenter. Jeg var 10 år da hun og en ung jente kom for å bo hos oss i en uke. Det er noe jeg aldri glemmer, og det var en opplevelse som direkte førte til mitt valg av yrke i voksen alder. Dette å ta vare på de alle svakeste. Denne unge jentens barndom sto i skarp kontrast til min. Jeg forstod ikke hvorfor hun ikke lekte med dukkene jeg tilbydde henne. Hun gjorde kun det jeg ba henne om å gjøre.
Dette er denne apatien jeg får mest vondt av hos barn. Barn skal ikke være apatiske. Jeg har lært iløpet av mine 9 år at så lenge barn er sinte, redde, skriker, gråter, slår seg selv og/eller andre så er det fortsatt tid. Lite tid, men fortsatt tid igjen for å hjelpe. Det er når barnet trekker seg helt inn i seg selv jeg blir virkelig bekymret.
Og de gangene jeg har sett dette blikket hos barn, vet jeg at det er grunnet et politisk system som vedlikeholder overgrepene år etter år.
Så hvem svikter barna, Bøhler?

Det er ikke vi som jobber med barna som svikter, det er ikke de som jobber for å stoppe en implementering av DLD. Det er dere som lager reglene, som tviholder på en papirmølle, som ikke bevilger nok penger, som er frekke nok til å gå ut i media å påstå at DLD vil redde barna fra overgrep.
Det er, som jeg skrev til Bøhler i mailen, en hån mot meg, en hån mot mine kolleger og ikke minst et hån mot barn. Hva gjør dette fokuset på barn og overgrep med de barna som faktisk befinner seg i en overgrepssituasjon? De får en tilleggsbyrde, en redsel for at nettopp deres overgriper har lagt ut bilder på nett av han/henne i de mest sårbare situasjoner. Trygghet, Bøhler? Barnet vet hva som vil føre til at volden opphører. Og det er ikke DLD.

DLD skaper ikke trygghet, det gjør vi som medmennesker. DLD gjør alle til mistenkte, og DLD handler om så mye mere enn IP-addresser som Kripos provserende nok påstår er det eneste som kan hjelpe dem i etterforskningen i denne saken. Work harder! IT-bransjen sitter på kunnskapen, snakk sammen. Gi Kripos redskapene som er dokumentert effektive og ikke ineffektive , og slutt med disse skremmebildene. DLD er lett å omgå, så bruk heller disse milliardene på å sikre barna der det virkelig trengs. Hør på oss som jobber med barn og for barn. Det er ikke slik at svimlende mengder informasjon fører til bedre etterforskning. Det krever enorme ressurser og enorme summer i tillegg til de milliardene DLD selv vil koste. Dette er penger Høyre og Arbeiderpartiet mener er fornuftig å spy inn in DLD, isteden for å bruke disse pengene der vi vet det virker. Jeg vil ha meg frabedt at Bøhler bruker barna som politisk skjold.

Om noen svikter barna i dette landet, så er det Høyre og Arbeiderpartiet. Ferdig sak.

Om det var hans ønske å lyssette kulturforskjeller som han sier i mailen, burde han ha valgt et annet bilde. Et slikt bilde skapte furore i USA nettopp pga denne fremstillingen om at "hvite skaffer seg mat", mens "sorte plyndrer". Jørgen Meberg Gilbrant påstår at det er jeg som trekker frem hudfarge, og mener saken hans er nøytral. Det er grov ansvarsfraskrivelse.

Å plyndre er å rane, å stjele. Det er nedfelt i menneskerettighetene at man har rett til mat og ly, og at myndighetene har plikt til å skaffe dette til veie. Ergo er det ikke plydring - det er overlevelse. I Haiti og i Louisiana var det enorm fattigdom, hjelpen kom alt for sent. Vi vet at Bush selv har beklaget at han ikke sendte hjelp raskere. Han valgte å sende inn bevæpnede soldater først, dette har han også beklaget i etterkant fordi det ikke var et behov for væpnede soldater. Alle i Louisiana vet Bush ikke hadde sendt soldater om katastrofen hadde skjedd i en by med overtall hvite. Som Kanye West sa: George Bush Doesn't care about black people. Situasjonen i Hatiti er grotesk med sin ekstreme kriminalitet, og å kalle det plyndring når mennesker flykter fra voldtekt og kuler, er direkte provoserende.

Jørgen Meberg Gilbrant mener hans sak handler om kulturforskjeller. Jeg mener hans sak er _vinklet_ bevisst for å spille på den voksende fremmedfrykten og rasismen vi ser her i landet. Det er populisme. Det finnes ikke et annet ord for det. Sitater han har tatt med understreker nettopp dette: "Idiotiske fenomener som at folk strømmer på og plyndrer supermarkeder er noe man ikke opplever blant japanere."

Idiotiske fenomener? Å kjempe for sin egen overlevelse er ikke likestilt med idioti. Å påstå at det er det, er idioti. Det er korrekt at noen mennesker tar materielle ting som ikke var relatert til overlevelse . Jeg vil igjen påpeke at dette nettopp ble relatert til hudfarge i USA selv om dette ble gjort av både de med hvit hud og de med mørk hud i Louisiana. Journalister har enorm makt. De alle fleste mennesker velger å lese dette uten å sette seg inn i saken. Ergo har Jørgen Meberg Gilbrant tømt bensin på bålet. Og er ikke villig til å innse hva saken har ført til.

Det overrasker meg ikke at en norsk journalist velger å vinkle en slik sak. Her i landet er vi grenseløst naive, og pga vår rikdom, vårt demokrati, og vår ytringsfrihet har vi blitt late og bortskjemte. Vi har liten innsikt i hvordan det er å gjennomgå traumer. Dette ser vi også i møtet med flyktninger med PTSD. Vi har ikke kompetansen til å møte mennesker med krigstraumer.

Vi er heldige som bor i dette landet. Problemet er at denne behagelige tilværelsen fører til arroganse og uvitenhet. Og som i tilfellet med denne journalisten: Total manglende forståelse på et meget betent tema. Hvordan hadde denne saken blitt mottat i USA?

Under følger mailer mellom meg og journalisten. Jeg vil påpeke at jeg ikke fikk svar på siste email. Jeg kan bare anta at han ikke er motivert for diskusjon. Og hans artikkel får stå uredigert. Med lukket kommentarfelt.

Mitt navn er ..., og jeg ble ganske satt ut av din sak i går om hvorfor japanere ikke "plyndrer" slik som folk med mørkere hud. Ja, jeg settet artikkelen din litt på spissen, men jeg tror virkelig ikke du vet hva denne saken gjør med folk. Når det gjelder Louisiana var det ikke bare de med mørk hud som "plyndret" som det er blitt omtalt. Forskjellen på bildene vi så i media var at når hvite skaffet seg mat, var det overlevelse, og når de med mørh hud skaffet seg mat, var det plyndring. Det er rasisme period.

Dette var en stor sak i USA i kjølvannet av Katrina. Og du som journalist burde ha satt deg litt mere inn i hvordan situasjonen var. Du burde forstå at en slik vinkling, med de bildene du har valgt, trigger noe i hodet på folk i dette landet som tror at vi fortsatt opererer med "rase" og at graden av melanin i huden har noe å si på hvordan man reagerer ved en naturkatastrofe. Det er selvsagt ikke bare dem med mørk hud som plyndrer. Chilenere plyndret, engelskmenn plyndrer når det flom, amerikanere plyndrer, osv osv. Det er du som trekker konklusjonen at det har noe med hudfarge og gjøre og blir støtt. Dette handler om KULTURELLE forskjeller, som mange synes er interessante - og som det finnes vitenskapelig grunnlag for, derfor intervjuet jeg også en sosialantropolog.

Jeg vil påpeke at jeg ikke konkluderer med at dette handler om hudfarge, jeg konkluderer med at saken er lagt frem på en måte som gjør at den blir oppfattet slik. Det er uheldig og ja, populistisk.
Dessuten er ordet "plyndre" ladet, mennesker i nød plyndrer ikke. De gjør det de kan for å overleve. Å plyndre er å rane eller å stjele. Mennesker i nød har faktisk rett ved lov til å skaffe seg mat om myndighetene ikke er i stand til å gjøre det for de. Ergo er ikke loven brutt.

I japan får folk hjelp der det er mulig å hjelpe. I Louisiana fikk de ikke hjelp før det var for sent for svært mange, og mange mener det var nettopp fordi det var i et område med få hvite. Dette har Bush fått intens kritikk for i etterkant. Han sendte soldater med våpen før han sendte hjelp. Jeg kan love deg at hadde du trykket denne saken i en amerikansk avis, hadde reaksjonene vært svært sterke. Jeg forstår at du er journalist og ønsker at dine saker blir lest. Denne gangen har du fått reaksjoner så det monner. Hvorfor ble kommentarfeltet stengt pga rasistiske kommentarer tror du, om saken din ikke fyrer oppunder nettopp rasismen som viser seg i dette landet? Om det ikke var din bevisste intensjon, vil jeg påstå at du som journalist er en smule naiv.

The department of justice seeks private information about Twitter users who voice their support for WikiLeaks. We know this because the Icelandic MP Birgitta Jónsdóttir informed us about this via Twitter. And had it not been for Twitter's denial to comply, it would never have reached the public nor her. I find it deeply disturbing that you feel a need to gather intelligence in secrecy about political activists using their democratic right to free speech via the Internet. Regarding WikiLeaks, I have been active both on Twitter, Facebook and blogs voicing my support. All citizens have a natural right to know everything their elected officials and their policy making employees are doing on their behalf. (res publica). It scares me that my belief in freedom of information, right to privacy and free speech is such a threat to your system that you feel the need of prosecution. It's what we don't know that's the really frightening scenario. I have a democratic right to openly support Wikileaks, and you have an obligation to serve the public trust.

Wikileaks - Big brother's big brother

UPDATE: Swedish prosecutors have lost their High Court appeal against bail granted to the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

The greatest threat to society is ignorance. I see this posing a massive threat against us regarding data retention directive (DLD in Norwegian), and with freedom of press and freedom of expression regarding Wikileaks and Julian Assange.

On a weekly basis I talk to people who ask me questions regarding both subjects. And I am shocked by their lack of knowledge. Wake up and smell the coffee, sweetheart...the government has been oppressing you since the day you were born.

I don't enjoy destroying their illusions. If people don't start waking up, they will unknowingly ruin my freedom. These people are drones, and waking up to reality is deeply uncomfortable. Democracy is constantly evolving, and if you don't participate it will evolve into something you really don't want it to. Use that freedom of expression to make sure you remain a free human being.

Use it or loose it.

I am growing tired of debating with ignorant people. If I can access the information, then so can you. The government prefer you to stay stupid and ignorant, we see it in the states where the education system has left the country on the break of total destruction. And in Norway education is not prioritized, the politicians want you working, not educated. Work, make them money, stay dumb. If that does not work, they will start censoring the news papers, the radio, they will twist and distort your information claiming it's for your own good. As with data retention.

Mass surveillance is for our own safety. They are doing this to protect us from terrorists, predators, Pirate Bay and other «serious crime». They are creating an enemy, whom we did not fear at all, mind you. This is information you willingly pass on to the next person. Spreading misinformation like a virus. Wikileaks is to me the best example of how this prosses works. Wikileaks has revealed serious war crimes, human rights violations, and corruption spread out over a 4 year period. From human rights violations in Guantanamo Bay, corruption in Kenya, opening up church of scientology, corruption on Iceland, the collateral murder video, the Granai airstrike, the Afghan was diaries, not to mention the diplomatic cables that made governments over the world have a total fit. The list goes on.

Now the US are censoring it's newspapers, students are instructed not to read about wikileaks, library of congress are censoring the material, MasterCard, Visa and Paypal refuse to offer their service to Wikileaks, (that was dealt with) hindering you and me to spend our money the way we want to, claiming Wikileaks is engaged in illegal activities. (Paypal lied and you can read all about that here.) (And let's never forget B radly Manning.) Yet in spite of all this, wikileaks has not been convicted of any crime. Wikileaks is the messanger, and operates as a media organisation in collaberation with important media such as Guardian, Der Spiegel and New York Times. Yet these are not being persecuted for publishing the same material as Wikileaks. Nor has any other media covering the leaks from across the globe. This is freedom of press. We demonize other countires for censoring people such as Salman Rushdie and Liu Xiaobo, yet we prosecute our own freedom fighters. And we still like to believe we are fully democratic in the west.

Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks is, as we speak, in solitary confinement. He has not been charged with any crime, he has very restriced rights, he is being watched 24/7. Because 2 Swedish girls accused him of rape. I don't see the personal life of Assange to be relevant, but with all the misconseptions I see it as important to sort some facts out.

Assange had consensual sex with Anna Ardin while living in her flat for a few days. She invited Assange to Stockholm to speak at a seminar hosted by The Brotherhood Movement, and was briefly appointed his press secretary during his visit. Ardin tweeted <--this the same day, and the day after, the alleged rape. (Since deleted) Ardin explains how wonderfull it was to hang out with "the coolest people in the world". Wilèn who attended the seminar, more or less stalked Assange.

This ^tweet, her now only listed tweet, is dated desember 12th 2010: "I'm so sick of everything that's happening, will it never end? Want to tell the theoreticians that "the other one" was equally pushy". I have deep sympathies with genuine rape victims as I know a few, but not with Ardin. If you are worried about STD, you go to the doctor, not the cops. This whole thing was a matter between Ardin and Assange, not for the public eye and certainly not for the cops. If your date don't call you the next day, take it up with your girlfriends, not a lawyer.

(Last link is in swedish, please use google translate if needed) The rape charges were dropped the same day, as there were no evidence of rape. Then the charge were changed to «sex by surprise». (In Sweden having consecual sex without condom is apparently rape, not listed here.) Assange offered to come in for questioning while in Sweden, but this was denied. He did stay 1 month longer than planned in order to get the questioning done. Denied. He was told he was free to leave the country. 3 months later he is wanted by the Interpol for questioning in Sweden. (Read Wolf's thoughts on the state pimping feminism here) I agree whole heartedy with Wolf in what Ardin and Wilèn are doing, is a grave insult to rape victims all over the world.

Assange has to this day not been charged with anything, and his lawyer has not been presented with any evidence. He has repeatedly offered to go in for questioning at the embassy in London or via video link, but this has again been denied. Assange gave the british police his contact information as soon as he arrived in England, and he turned him self in. Assange has been granted bail, but that was appealed by the UK authorities (!) And now we have to wait for another 24 hours to know the outcome of that. If he is released on bail, he will be kept in house arrest, he has to report everyday, he has to hand over his pass port and wear a electronic tracker. If he's not released on bail we are looking on months of appealing. What a massive waste of money.

We know the US are doing everything they can to extradite Assange and charge him with espionage, when he in fact wanted to involve the US government. But this request was denied. The US are sending shock waves through free press all over the world: Assange is not the criminal, the governments who committed the war crimes, the corruption, the human rights violations are the criminals. The same people who now want him dead. There has not been a single piece of evidence as to claim Wikileaks has put any lives at risk.

In his own words: "Every time WikiLeaks publishes the truth about abuses committed by US agencies, Australian politicians chant a provably false chorus with the State Department: "You'll risk lives! National security! You'll endanger troops!" Then they say there is nothing of importance in what WikiLeaks publishes. It can't be both. Which is it?"

In fact Assange is just letting you and me know whats really going on, putting his life on the line. Julian Assange is the Robin Hood of the information age. Wikileaks is opening up Governments. And you better be grateful enough to take that information and educate yourself any way you can.

This is historical, this is about internet freedom, and about press freedom. And you have to use these rights to maintain them.

On a brighter note: I want to point out that Wikileaks now have 2.194 mirror sites, and a massive support group across the globe. Assange had 382.o24 votes on Time's "Man of the year" (He didnt win, big surprise), more than 10 people offered large sums of money for his bail. Wikileaks has massive support with the people ( 1.371020 fans on Facebook), and functions as an inspiration for new similar organizations just starting up. Demonstrations has taken place is several countries. People are indeed waking up.

Long overdude post on various fetishes people engage in.
I asked my readers months ago to pick a topic out of many. And most answered they would like a general introduction to more common fetishes. Most of these are linked, and I will try to present the various types accordingly. Some are funny and silly, some are darker and more serious.

First I would want to educate all of you, a fetish is not always a sexual activity.
In many cases it's all about playing games or roleplaying. Sometimes the fetish activity involves nothing sexual, until the person is alone a few days later. For others it's very sexual.
What is sexuality? Who has the right to label it, or limit it? This blog post is quite long, even though I try to make each subject as short as possible. If you don't want to read all of it, just skip to the parts that interest you.

Let's start of with furries. Many of you know about this fetish, so I won't go into great detail. There are thousands of sites online dedicated to this, with equally many films, cartoon and pictures. So what is a furry?
As with every fetish there are huge variations, but basically furry fandom is a man or a woman who finds great pleasure, sexually and/or psychologically in dressing up in cute, animal custumes, or more specifically as anthropomorphic animal characters. They walk on two legs and they do talk. Some will play with other furries over a weekend, some have sex (yiff), some live a lifestyle at home with a partner as a furry. Some have sex with furry sexdolls/toys (Plushophiles), some meet up at furry conventions. The furry kink is harmless yet complicated. Most people enjoy dressing up pretending to be someone we are not, or someone we feel like deep inside. Once dressed up, we immediatly become the costume mentally. If you were to dress up as a cop, you would copy a cops mannerizms. We enjoy taking on roles, it's a healthy break from our normal, boring, stressed out self. For a furry it's also about being able to be playful, childlike, talk in a funny voice, play with toys, act cartoonish. Some spend huge amounts of money on making costumes, and there are people who specialize in making custom made custumes that costs thousands. As with everything else, if there is a demand someone will pick up on that and make it into a money machine. Feel like dressing up as a racoon? Then furry fandom is for you.

The darker side of the furry fetish kan be linked to vore.( Latin vorare to "devour") People into vore fantazise about being eaten by animals, or other animals being eaten. Obviously this deals with elements of submission/domination. Some women will fantasize about being some fragile, beautiful animal, like a unicorn, that gets eaten alive by an aggressive pack of wolves. It's fascinating to me to see how complex some people will make their sexual fantasies. For some it's enough to say "please tie me up and spank me", others will play out a whole other universe to be able to get off. People want to be eaten by anything you can possibly imagine: dragons, whales, lions, frogs, snakes or wolves... Anything goes.
To some people national geographic is porn. No, I am being serious. On forums you will find people discussing yesterday's program like it was Caroline Pierce's newly released Bang Bros production. This fetish deals with pain, fear, adrenaline, being helpless or being in control, causing others pain and/or controlling life and death.

The fantasy of being eaten is actually not so uncommon. I once stumbled upon a site (taken down years ago, (this is the archive) named The Big Gulp. Introduction: "If you're a psychology major reading this site because you're writing your thesis about us, please let us know if you figure out why we have this kink: we'd like to know!"
This site was dedicated to the idea of being a tiny man/woman being swallowed/eaten by a normal sized woman/man. The site was filled with fantastic photomanipulations of sexy, flirtatious women dangeling a helpless lille man between her fingers over her open mouth. That was years ago and a google search today will land you hundreds of sites dealing with the same fetish. To most it seems being swallowed whole is the main interest, to others being chewed and digested is the kink itself. As with vore this is a fantazy, it's not something anyone can play out in real life. Psychologically this is very Freudian of course. A man who want's to be eaten by a mother figure: return to mother. It's very complex and multi layered. I guess we could see all of this as a form of psycho drama. (I won't mention necrophilia as I have written about that subject before.)

Ok let's move on.
Crush fetish. I can't write about this fetish without writing a little about Jeff Vilencia. Jeff, as many do, had a kink and he thought he was the only one. He made a film about his fetish and was suprised by the number of people who contacted him because they shared his very spesific fetish. Jeff is well known for his controversial smush!-films. People who are into the crush fetish enjoy to see bugs, slugs, worms or similar being crushed under pretty, large female feet, preferably wearing massive, long spiked heals. Foot fetish being an obvious element.
They fantasize about being under the women's feet, being crushed, and since that is not possible in real life, a bug or similar is a valid substitute. I will mention that Hard Crush involves larger animals such as kittens, frogs and birds. As of today these videos are illegal because this is without a doubt animal cruelity. There was a lenghty legal process banning it, then making it legal and then banning it once again. I won't post pictures of how terrible this fetish can turn. I don't care what you do, as long as it's safe, sane and consensual. Killing kittens is NOT.
Jeff holds lectures about his fetish, and lives without a life partner. At one of these lectures a girl asked him "doesn't it get boring, doing the same thing over and over again? " Jeff answered "does intercourse get boring to you?" Great comeback. For a submissive man to imagine himself as a helpless worm being squashed under mighty female feet, is the ultimate submission. The total destruction. Others prefer being crushed themselves, this is a very layered subject and I will only mention it passingly. Many of these cheesy films from the 60's are porn to these people, even ads and comercials are sexually interesting. The deal is: very tall women dominating and/or playing out a certain tailored setting. A famous lady in this business is Queen Adrena, former wrestler. You will find a huge gay community into this as well. Really tall men or women, stombing on buildings, or mastubating with bridges. These women are very scary, dominating, overpowering, highly sexual, and there is no way of escaping. Again closely related to BDSM. I will point out that not all dominatrix are tall, some just act tall, building a mini scale city with skyscrapers and planes crashing into buildings. All very low tech, but it works for their customers: Ron. H runs a magazine called Black Giantess filled with his hand made collages. He has sold over 350 copies. He also runs Zena Rules. Zena is a part time Dominatrix specializing in foot fetish. Zena is a real live Godzilla. It all sounds really fucked up, but to them this is normal living.

Let's stay in the subject of growth.
If I tell you that the scene where Violet eats the magic piece of gum in "Charlie and the chocolate factory" and grows to a giant blueberry, is porn to some people, would you be amazed? Well it's true. Thousands have the original film for the sole purpose of masturbation. But not just that scene or that film, ANY film involving unwanted instant growth. It can be the whole person, or just the breasts or other body parts. Some fantasize about being the subject others about being the voyeour. This deals with the overflow of sexuality, the ultimate motherly breast. But also about dominating others
into immobility. Growing and growing...until the pressure tears you apart and you finally blow up is unmistakenly a masochistis fetish. And let me tell you that the amount of money people will spend on their never ending hunt for the ultimate growth is pretty amazing. I know some will spend several thousands on custom made rubber suits that gets inflated by heavy pumps. Others indulge in elaborate drawings where shirts will rip and buttons fly. There is a huge amount of sites with tons of material on this fetish, photo manipulations and drawings for everyone. And staying in the growing genre, we have balloon fetish. Mostly gay men, but more and more women, inflate balloons specific to their preferance. Moving on to Broken Dolls.
Romain Slocombe is a talented photographer who takes photos of asian girls in plaster and bandages. Japanese "kegadoru" meaning injured doll. This is actually a growing fashion as well, in Japan. Nyt Norge threatens legal action against blogger

The Norwegian blogger Christopher Biong is being threatened with a lawsuit by the government financed initiative Nyt Norge (enjoy Norway). The case is a result of Biong's use of Nyt Norge's logo for his adbusting campaign against what he rightfully sees as a distorted campaign.
Using a corporate logo in this fashion is a well established means of political expression, and should be protected by free speech. If you can't use a corporate logo to protest their actions your means of expression are seriously hampered. This is especially true if the corporation is run by the government - and in turn our money.

We should make sure that these pictures recieve the attention they deserve, and that this turns into a public relations blunder for Nyt Norge. I would've never heard of these pictures if they didn't threaten legal action. Smart huh?

My partner and I sat up that night watching the live streaming from MV Mavi Marmara. We could see the faces of the activist live, as they grew more and more fearful of what was to come.
After spending quite some time watching all these people and closely monitoring the ships' whereabouts via GPS, as well as getting updates via Twitter from people in direct contact with the people on board, we had this unsettling feeling. We are used to seeing horrible videos of people getting shot by police so horrific war crimes are not new to us. My partner and I have friends from parts of the world where oppression and violence is part of daily life. Even though I grew up in Norway and have never seen violence outside the numerous demonstrations we have attended, I certainly know more than most of what is going on in the world around me. Like I have said before my freedom gives me not only the possibility to speak up for those who can't, it actually means I am obligated to do so. And I do, every single day, any way I can.
We watched as this tiny young female journalist had trouble with the technical equipment, while trying to broadcast what was happening. The lights went on and off, and for every time the lights came back on, we saw their faces turning more and more terrified. Up until this point the people had been smiling, giving each other comforting pats on the shoulders, and hugs. I felt rather in awe over their calm and compassion for each other. We never saw anger or weapons. We only saw smiling eyes being filled with fear. Some 700 people from 37 different nations.
And then the live stream got cut off... Seconds before we could se the people on board looking up, turning round, listening and people that saying helicopters were right above the ship.
Then nothing. We tried to get updates from our contacts via Twitter, but there was no news, nobody knew what was happening.
We were so tired, it was just after 02:00 in the morning, CET. We sat discussing if we should wait for another hour, but decided that we should go to bed. There was no news to be found anywhere. We did talk about what the outcome would be, Israeli soldiers boarding the boat most definitely, probably some violence during the takeover and arrest for sure. My partner was more calm because he had been following the boat on the map and the ship was miles away from Israeli waters. The people on the boats were safe, they had pulled back further into international waters so that people could sleep on shifts before morning. I felt assured by this, but still had this unsettling feeling as I was about to fall asleep.

When I woke up the next morning, the first thing I did was to check the internet. It took me a few minutes before it really hit me. My partner could tell something was up as he asked me from the bedroom what was happening. People had been killed by Israeli soldiers just minutes after that live stream got cut off. As I was falling asleep, people were brutally killed.
It made me physically ill, more so than ever before and I literally felt like throwing up. I felt really sick. My mind and body was prepared for waking up to headlines about arrests, maybe some violence, but never even anything close to a massacre of unarmed peace activists in international waters.

The rest of that day was spent online, gathering information form our contacts and trying to find out what had happened.
That was not a very easy task as Israeli press was the only one able to tell it's story. But slowly news got out. 9 people had been killed - shot dead. 5 shot in the head, one at very close range (2-14 cm), Most of them shot in the back: "The results revealed that a 60-year-old man, Ibrahim Bilgen, was shot four times in the temple, chest, hip and back. A 19-year-old, named as Fulkan Dogan, who also has US citizenship, was shot five times from less that 45cm, in the face, in the back of the head, twice in the leg and once in the back. Two other men were shot four times, and five of the victims were shot either in the back of the head or in the back, said Yalcin Buyuk, vice-chairman of the council of forensic medicine." The Guardian.
Evidently they were running away seconds before they died...

People from 37 nations were onboard the 6 ships and over 600 people had been brutally arrested. None of these were allowed any contact with their families, lawyers or their embasies. It took 2 days before people were released from Israeli custody and all cell phones, all cameras and all lap tops had been confiscated or thrown overboard by Israeli soldiers. 60 journalists was robbed of their equipment.
The question still remains: Why? If the Israeli soldiers had nothing to hide it seems illogical.

The international community was enraged. Condemning these grave crimes against unarmed activists in international waters. And at the same time the Israeli propaganda machinery was fully operational. Edited videos of activists defending themselves against rapelling Israeli soldiers were posted and shown all over the internet and on every TV station. Soon the pictures came too, the proof of weapons on board: Sticks, metal pipes, kitchen knifes and so on. The Israeli message was clear: the activists attacked first, they were in fact trained terrorists that chose to use sticks and metal pipes to attack trained elite Israeli soldiers, instead of live fire, in order to come across as "more humane". The Israeli solders were so surprised by the brutal force of the attack, they claim they had no idea they would be met by such anger and violence, so they panicked and acted in self defence. Shooting and killing 9 wooden stick bearing activists and wounding some 60 others. First firing rubber bullets, then a couple of minutes after that - live fire. Combined with gas and concussion grenades.

Mavi Marmara was in international waters. Once the Israeli army closed in the first time, Mavi Marmari went even further into international waters, so that people could sleep in shifts.
The ship had been followed by Israeli army for hours, and the people on board were tired, and needed rest.
At 04:00 in the morning, local time, many of the muslim men were gathered for prayer, as is customary. The Israeli army knew that the muslim men would be in prayer at this specific time. And that is why they chose to attack at this specific time. The Israeli army had no intention of boarding the ship in a calm and peaceful manner. They chose to board the ship during night, while men were in prayer and others were sleeping, rapelling down from muffled helicopters, and attacking from all sides in zodiacs. The solders were in full battle gear. This was not meant to be peaceful in any way shape or form.

The Israeli government demanded the ships inspected, unloaded, and the goods delivered via Israeli channels.
The ships' cargo was thoroughly inspected in turkey by neutral institutions, because the activists knew Israeli government would accuse them of carrying weapons and demand an inspection.
Now, some people say that if the ships had no weapons, they had nothing to hide and should willingly oblige the Israeli governments demands for inspections.
The answer to that is no, there is no reason why Israeli government should inspect the already inspected cargo, nor should the cargo be delivered via Israeli channels as Israel would deny cement into Gaza, as they claim it will be used to build tunnels, controlled by the terrorists in Hamas, not homes. Cement is banned in Gaza by Israel.
In the aftermath, Israel did send some of the confiscated aid to Gaza, but like the activists foresaw, Israel withheld 8.000 tons of building material. Hamas refused to allow the humanitarian aid into Gaza until Israeli authorities released all flotilla detainees and allowed building materials.

I want to address the Israeli soldiers' claims that they were scared for their lives and acted in self defence.
Israeli soldiers are known as one of the worlds best. This are not amateurs without training or experience. These are elite navy soldiers, most have seen combat and have years of training and experience on how to deal with violence, stress and chaotic situations. That is their job. Claiming a small group of young men with sticks and metal pipes, justifies killing 9 and wounding 60 more, is nothing short of a disgrace.
It's a lie, it's propaganda and we all know it. These are soldiers trained to react according to their training. They don't panic over wooden stick or metal pipes. They are trained to deal with lethal weapons and dangerous situations. This situation should have been easy to handle.
If that was what they wanted.
Why the Israel army wants to portray themselves as weak, inexperienced pussies is beyond me. But that is the story they are going for: elite soldiers, in full combat gear, with helmets, bulletproof vests, gas and concussion grenades, were scared.

There were no weapons on board besides kitchen knifes, angle grinders, wooden sticks, metal bars, and other supplies you would find on any large vessel.
The Swedish author Henning Mankell told the media his shaving razor was located in his room and confiscated as a weapon.

The Israeli government has released a video of activist throwing concussion grenades at them. Norwegian activists told at the press conference that the soldiers threw these grenades onto the ship, and the activists threw them back over board. Bear in mind that these Norwegians just got off the plane and had not seen any pictures, and videos or read any papers. They were in fact very surprised over how much media attention this had gained. Pleasantly surprised, as they now felt secure the massacre would not be left untold.

The israeli government put a close lid on all information. Meaning the names and nationalities of the dead and wounded was not revealed for days.
Leaving families all over the world terrified and feeling helpless. The embassies were refused information as well, causing anger in all the states involved in the peaceful action. 3 Norwegians were on board Mavi Marmara and the day before yesterday they were finally released and could tell us about their horrific ordeal.

At the press conference they were exhausted, as they had been subjected to sleep deprivation, little or no food and water. They had been subjected to brutal treatment, and told the media that the Israeli soldiers had a racist agenda. The people with Palestinian background were badly beaten. They told about Israeli soldiers with laser sights pointing at the head of those who tried to speak. They gave accounts about writing SOS messages in Hebrew on paper notes to the soldiers at the ship, during the boarding, requesting aid for the wounded and dieing. Aid was however refused They spoke about stairs covered in blood, about people being shot in the head right before their eyes and about walking over dead bodies. They told us about long interrogations, about being disoriented not knowing date and time. In short, torture. Norwegian Nidal Hejazi told us about an Irish American who got hit in the back of the head with a night stick, his face immediately covered in blood as he fell to the floor. This was not during the boarding mind you, this was as the activists were getting ready to be deported. He did not join the other activsts on the plane out.
Another got his arm and leg broken and when he screamed, the Israeli soldier actually put his foot into his mouth. At this point Hejazi was in tears and couldn't go on talking about his experience. I can't blame him.

I want to write a little about the psychology behind fear.
I mentioned this in an earlier debate as well. In my line of work there is a lot of violence. I have been to numerous courses instructing me on methods of preventing and handling violence. We have been drilled in these techniques, and I know by heart what to do. I have to, because if I fail I put myself, the other users, and my colleagues at risk. The moment a situation arises, I react instinctively. I know what to do and I do it fast. Usually a situation is over in 5-10 minutes. I am trained on not reacting with the instinctive fear once someone strikes out at me, I am trained to go into the situation and do what has to be done.
And I am no soldier.

Another thing I want to point out is what we call the threat of potential violence. This means that the threath begins before entering my work place, knowing that during my shift I will most likely be hit, yelled at, kicked and sometimes subjected to grave violence. We are trained to deal with this feeling, venting it, and being aware of it. This is very difficult, but I can tell you that the people who don't have my kind of training, feel more fear, react much more violently, the situation lasts much longer, and their reactions are much stronger.So these elite soldiers with years of training could deal with this in an efficient and humane way - if that was their will and intent.
The activists reacted with the same kind of fear and stress as the people I work with who have no training. The activists were quite obviously not trained in handling fear, and they defended themself. That is the psychology of what happened.

Now onto the legal aspects:
Israel has not signed United nations convention on the law of the sea (UNCLOS).
While they have not signed not ratified the convention counts as international law as it has achieved 60 ratifications and thereby becomes law for all UN members. This means that Israel was in fact violating international law. (Specifically paragraphs 92, 94 and 96) Ergo making the argument that the Israeli soldiers were attacked false.
The activists were in international water, with no weapons on board. They were attacked by Israeli soldiers. The ones who used wooden sticks and metal bars, acted in _self defence_.
They were not in violation of any international law.

Another argument is that their intent was to break a blockade. While this argument is valid, the blockade is legally questionable and has come under heavy criticism for failing to meet international standards for legal blockade.
In 1909 an attempt was made to regulate the legality of blockades in the London declaration concerning the laws of naval war. How ever the law failed as it did not receive enough signatures to be made international law. Still it has been used and cited as the standard for blockades.
the law states clearly that a blockade needs to provide sufficient medical aid and food for the blockaded area. It also states that in order to intercept anyone breaching the blockade, they must be _actively_ doing so. Proven, or simply stated _intent_ is not enough. However since this law never became international law, blockades are regulated under chapter 7 of the United Nations charter, article 42. Witch states that the legality of a blockade must be founded on the security council. The Israeli blockade fails to met these standards, both according to the 1909 declaration and article 42. In fact the security council has called for the immediate cease of the blockade.

Who were the organisers of the Free Gaza flotilla?
(Free Gaza Movement has been arranging similar actions since 2008.)
Free Gaza Movement in collaboration with several other NGO's such as Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) , the Perdana Global Peace Organization from Malaysia, the European Campaign to End the Siege of Gaza, and a Swedish and Greek Boat. 6 boats in total.
All with one common goal: To aid the 1.5 million suffering people in Gaza.
The cargo consists of paper for school books, wheel chairs, cement, medication, toys, food, water purifiers and so on.
Not weapons, nor terrorists.

Some claim, particularily the Israeli government, that IHH has links to Al qaeda and islamism. While these links have been present, they are not as strong or developed as one might suspect. After reading a a Danish report on IHH it is evident that the IHH has made some bad judgements in the past, and that for a period during the nineties the organization was in fact infiltrated by terrorist groups. However the organization itself is _not_an islamist group nor engaged in terror activities. Most of the evidence against them is clearly circumstantial and speculative. For instance the fact that IHH has participated in demonstrations against the American invasion of Iraq is counted as islamist behaviour. Many of my friends, including myself, demonstrated against the invasion of Iraq - and we are certainly not islamist.

I strongly want to point out that this action was not a terrorist action. And when people link IHH to a vague and outdated past, they fail to realize that this has nothing to do with Hamas, the Jewish people or politics. This was humanitarian - period.
I also want to state that being opposed to the Israeli government and it's politics, is not the same as being opposed to the Jewish people.
Supporting the suffering Palestinians is not the same as supporting Hamas' politics and bombings. I do however recognise Hamas as the legally elected civilian authority.

I want to state that Mister Obama, Mister Nobel Peace Prize, should be ashamed. I hope his nights are filled with nightmares. So much for "change" and "hope", so much for reaching out an open hand to the muslim world.
Take a long hard look at my open hand, Mister Obama, as I flip you the bird.
You let everyone down, and the great people before you, are turning in their graves.

This was not about religion, politics or ethnicity.
This is about right and wrong.
And the Israeli government has to stop their suppression of the Palestinian people, and lift the blockade.The time has come, and the world is watching. The eyes of the world are on MV Rachel Corrie that got boarded by IDF today.

Hijab - Unveiling feminism

This blog entry has been in the back of my mind for quite some time.
The need to write down my thoughts has steadily increased side by side with the tabloid media and politicians catering to norwegian right wing interests.
I want you to read these earlier entries as well, to inform you on where I stand in regards of respecting religion and on women's liberation.
This blog will deal with the matter of freedom, and the freedom of choice.

The debate has gone on for years now in Norway: "The oppression of women in the name of Islam"Several countries have banned various forms of Islamic headwear. All in the name of "women's liberation". Women are fined for wearing a burka in public. Women are forbidden from wearing their headwear of choice to school, in the pool, while driving a car, at work.
In the west a liberated woman wears what she wants, whereever she wants. The radical feminists preach that a woman should, by principle, walk down dark alleyways wearing skimpy clothing, to prove her strength and to stand her ground: I, woman, can do anything, go anywhere.
The same feminists argue that women working in the porn industry, prostitutes or strippers, are not liberated. The same feminists argue that the hijab is the very core of female oppression. These radical feminists and the politicians, seem to have this idea that their subjective emotions should be universal.

Feminists are afraid of public sexuality, it's a fear founded in Victorian morals and the protestant view on sin. The hijab is a recognition of female sexuality. Women start to wear a hijab once they hit puberty, marking a sexual awakening. The feminists can't deal with the fact that pornography and hijab are both part of a sexual iconography. Pornography is all about exposing sexuality, and hijab is about not flaunting sexuality, but reserving it for the proper context. Despite their different intentions they are both symbols of sexual self awareness.
The feminists want to de-sexualize the female body, as in : Don't look at my breasts, look at my eyes, respect me. The hijab focuses on and frames the eyes - ergo causing respect.
A woman who wants to cover her body - the very antithesis of the women's liberation movement in the west.

The liberation of women seems to be an idea that all women must work collectively to reach a common goal. Freedom to me is the complete opposite: individual freedom - the right to decide what is right for you and only you. If I were to limit my freedom to a collective sisterhood, I would limit myself way beyond freedom and venture deep inside a restricted world of rules. If I am to accept that the state is the right power to decide what is the definition of freedom, I would willingly and openly be accepting a totalitarian state.

Most of the people so passionate about refusing women their personal freedom, don't understand that their resistance is founded in xenophobia,and in many cases even racism. Many of these people would never accept an islamic woman. No matter how integrated she might be in our society. The islamic woman could have a Ph.D., she could work full time, speak fluent Norwegian, be a 3rd generation immigrant, but as long as she wears a hijab, they want her excluded from society. A woman wearing the hijab, can never be a liberated Norwegian woman. And many of these people would not accept her even if she took off her hijab. She is still a Muslim. She is still different. The veil is actually used as cover up for discrimination.
Reveal yourself.

Norwegian women who are not radical feminists, have a slightly different view on the matter.
Why would a woman _want_ to cover her hair? Western women spend millions on their hair. It's their crown of glory. A dyed, cut, bleached crown of glory. Flowing hair has historically been seen as erotic, and a signal of sexual power. Letting the hair flow freely down the back has been seen as a symbol of the untamed woman such as Lilith and Mary Magdalen, and you can read more about that here.
In films, when the woman is about to engage in sex, we often see her with a sultry look as she unleashes her long hair, shaking her crown of glory, stating: I am ready, I am willing. I am your succubus. There is something dangerous about a sexually liberated woman.
When women cut their hair short in the 1920s as a fashion statement, it was also a liberating act: I, woman, can wear my hair as I please.

When ever the hair fashion change, there is a feminist agenda behind it. Albeit subconsciously. Everything a western woman does and doesn't, is an extension of the woman's liberation movement. Don't you dare try tell a western woman she cant. Because she can, with a vengeance.
So to these women covering up the very symbol of sexual liberation, seems dogmatic. To these women the liberation lies in the revealing of the body. The right to wear short skirts, the right to wear a deep cleavage and at the same time get infuriated at men staring at their breasts. They see sexual liberation as throwing their sex in every ones face, and they are not willing to understand the reactions: How dare you treat me as a sexual object!

And then we have the children. Some politicians go as far as claiming that children wearing the hijab are sexualized by their parents. Reasoning that young children should not be covering up their hair, because they are not sexual beings. These people seem to have the idea that their own western view on sexuality and its symbols are the same all over the world. Parents who dress their children in the hijab, are raising them according to their religion. The veil is the symbol that separated man from God: wearing it is perhaps a liminal state, signifying the difference between the profane and the profound spheres of life. As in the mosaic temple the Jews carried through the desert after leaving Egypt.
Muslim parents are not forcing sexuality onto their children, the western world however is.
Muslim parents, as most parents, want their children to look proper.

When I grew up I was not allowed to wear what I wanted, my parents had strict rules. No short skirts, no bare belly, no tight pants, no deep cleavage. And my neighbours and friends of the family would call my mother and tell her if I wore something that was not acceptable. Most parents want their children to look decent. And most parents gets frustrated and ashamed when their children refuse to do do. I see my mother pulling up my 14 year old niece's neckline when it's too low cut. Muslim parents and western parents are not as different as you might think.
Forcing children is wrong, whether it's forcing them to go to church, or to wear a hijab. That is a whole different subject. Not to be mistaken with love, affection and most importantly: good intentions

The media portrays muslim women wearing a hijab as weak, with scared eyes. Always with a black hijab, eyes pleading for help from the western readers. Never once have I've seen a picture in a Norwegian newspaper of a smiling muslim woman wearing a colorful hijab. Like the ones I do see every day In Oslo. They are beautiful, some are simply stunning. I bought my own hijab last year because I think it looks so pretty. I have not worn it in public, but I've made numerous promises both online and in RL that I will wear the hijab, a burka or a niqab if a ban ever is to be implemented in Norway. And the police, politicians, feminists and racists would have a very hard time explaining why I, a liberated western woman wearing this garment of my own free will, was fined for being out in public. A very hard time indeed.

We in the west have alot to learn about respect. And far too many of us need to learn that today integration has a meaning similar to assimilation.The women's liberation movement, the french revolution, the black power movement all led to the rights we in the west have today.

It never ceases to amaze me how unwilling we are to grant these hard earned rights to newcomers.

Freedom means choice - not compulsion

There is a fire burning in Norway.
2 days in a row as many as 3000 muslims have been out in the streets, peacefully protesting against the harassment of muslims and the meaningless, repeated publication of the Muhammed charicatures, last published by Dagbladet 2 weeks ago.
There are numerous blogs about these charicatures. As you should know by now: My blog views subjects from a very different point of view.

First off, let me state that I am against printing of these charicatures.
Let me explain why:

1: Dagbladet's motivation:
Dagbladet is strugling financially, letting people go, and experiencing dwindling sales numbers.
Dagbladet decided to publish a severly offencive drawing of the prophet as a pig, writing in the Quran. This drawing was first posted on the PST facebook page (police inteligence and security service) by a group member. PST had originally censored several other posts, but let this one pass for 2 days, thereby lending it some official credence. Even though several muslims protested and expressed regret over PST's decicion. Let me point out that several muslims feel persecuted by PST in the context of the ongoing "war on terror". Additionally the second largest political party is the radical right populist FrP, with overt islamophobe tendencies, as well as a growing general racism in the public. All this adds to the situation.

So why did Dagbladet decide to publish this drawing? Because they wanted to cover the news story on the PST situation, as the publication itself states."The time was right," Could they have covered this story without using the drawing? Yes. Would that cause as much attention and high sales numbers? No. Could the timing had been worse? No. Dagbladet published the drawing based on capitalist motivations, under a false pretense of defending "free speech". Unwittingly Dagbladet allowed itself to become a tool in a right wing populist agenda.

2: The intentions of those who are pro the publications:
This is a very complex matter, and can only be understood if the reader, as me, understands democracy as a institution nourishing lazy, spoiled and apathetic people.
If you however, the reader, are a great believer in the state, police and democracy as the ultimate way of life, the following will most likely sound like crazy talk.
Democracy is nothing but a word, with little or no meaning to most norwegians. Until their personal way of life is threathened in any way by alien influence, causing fear of change they won't react. To them democracy means voting once every 4th year, then leaning back and flipping the bird to the rest of the world. To them democracy means no understanding, no respect and no willingness to perceive that our illusion of democracy is perhaps not the only alternative to dictatorship. Democracy to most norwegians means "my way or the highway". Do as we do, or we will bomb you, hate you and alienate you.
To most norwegians democray means no understanding for the damage imperialism caused, no understanding for what excluding the developing countries from trade has done to their economies. To them democracy means not understanding the realities of war, PTSD, cultural differences, poverty and social stigma.
To me, on the other side, democracy means responsibility. I have the responsibilty to talk for those who can't speak, act for those who can't act, and always staying alert and aware when it comes to the world around me. Freedom does not mean you can lean back and stop caring. Freedom means you MUST CARE.

And I care about the feelings of 1.5 billion muslims all over the world who feel intensely hurt by these drawings. I question the intentions of the people who are in favor the publications. They have no conscious intentions. They simply strike out against people they dont like, again under a misguided pretense of "freedom of speech". Their intention is not to help, or to cause islamic religion to progress, their intention is to state their dislike of islam. The continued publication of these drawing is not by any means a bridge builder, it's exclusively bombing the bridge.

Freedom of speech is the main argument used by the media and people in general, who are in favor of publication. Yes, the media may publish the drawings, but is it neccesary? And if so, why? The argument is if they don't publish the drawing, our nation is in grave danger. Of what? Being controlled by Islam? The line of argument is that freedom of speech itself is threathened. By whom? And how? Not printing these drawings would not cause approximately 200 years of democracy to collaps into a black hole. It would not cause Norway to regress into the dark ages. '

Because democracy is not static, it is a constant evolution. This is not a matter of no democracy versus democracy. This is a matter of adding, not subtracting, as a consequense of a pluralist society. There was no original threat to norwegian democracy from the islamic world, there was no outspoken, written message saying "we deny you your right to publish drawings of the prophet in the media, and if you do so, we will, by some magical and unexplainable means, brainwash 4.8 million norwegians to forget and dismiss 200 years of democratic evolution". Norwegians fear Islam, and thus as a threat, published the drawings to say "We fear you, we are flexing muscles to prove a point. We want to hurt you as much as we possible can, to prove our wonderful gift of freedom of speech, and not understand, or be willing to face, the consequences."

3: This brings me to consequences:
What are the conseqences of publishing? In Norway this means increased segregation, it reinforces the "us against them" mentality, and it strenghtens allready rising nationalist sentiments. It affects our ecconomy and unemployment rates. The publication and its consequenses, will slow down development of democracy, and decrease the inclusiveness so neccesary to maintain and build a functioning stable democracy. From being a nation who strives for inclusion in a quest of strengthening our freedom, we will now exclude and lose important and much needed international good will.

Internationally it will make it more difficult for Norway to use diplomacy with regards to muslim states, it can motivate increased recruiting of radical islamists and right wing extremists to their respective militant groups. To respect a persons religious belief, does not mean agreeing with what that religion represents and contains. Respect is the foundation of all comunication, and with no respect there can be no understanding. Personally I am an atheist, and I am still able to discuss religion with christians, muslims, jews, hindus and more. The publications propogates a false truth in the media, and this false truth will be a threshold and hindrance to integration. Why ask a muslim about his religion, when you are being fed racist propaganda by the media and politicians?

4:Freedom of speech.
This means you are free to state what you want, write what you want. This means the media could publish gruesome photographs of the two young girls killed and raped in Baneheia in 2000. They could, with freedom of speech on their side. But they didn't. Because it would cause the family tremendous pain, and it would cause the rest of Norway to have nightmares. And there would have been massive reactions, and demonstrations and threats would have been made to the editorial staff responsible. All in the name of democracy, and rightfully so.
Having the privilege of free speech, means freedom. Freedom means choice. Freedom does not mean compulsion - meaning "you have to, or else!"
Freedom of speech does not mean being an asshole, it does not mean you lose you ability to understand and respect others. Respecting others does not mean your democracy is in danger.

The Norwegian magazine Allers.no refuses to post females with dark skin on the cover, or in any ads inside the mag. Claiming that it would cause their readers to get offended. Claiming it would not fit their "traditional image".

I can't even begin to state how disgusting this is.

Obama gave his speach yesterday, in gratitude for winning the Nobel peace prize.
He used most of his peace speech defending war.
It was a well written and educated speach, Obama is an intelligent man, he knows his history.
And this is what scares me.
With Bush we knew what we had, he was ignorant, corrupt and uneducated. It was written in stone that he was going to fuck up the world. With Obama most expected the much promised change. The much anticipated hope. Even the fool Jagland, chairman of the Nobel comitee, used his speach quoting M. L King, trying like so many politicians, to copy Obamas special talent for rhetorical analysis and creating mass emotional hypnosis. Failing of course. Jagland's speech was written to explain to the world why Obama deserved the Nobel peace prize. Obama's "war is peace"-speech, stood in great contrast to those words.

Obama did show us his true face yesterday. Obama is no different from any of the other war criminals history has shown us. Except he made the lie bigger. Thus making the slap in the face so much more painfull. Obama has blood on his hands, and he sure did pick the right time to show the world. He is nothing more than a continuation of the Bush doctrine, making Alfred Nobel turn in his grave. Obama had most of us fooled. And still millions believe he is the messiah. The talk about diplomacy, reaching out hands and striving for change, was nothing more than one of history's greatest manipulations. Children are being killed. No great speach can erase the pain of their mothers and fathers, or justify the killings . Obama did remind me of one thing yesterday: To never again be as naive as to have a slight hope in any politicians.
Ever again.

This has been a political farce, and a sponsor feast for the capitalist forces in Norway. This was never about peace. Obama got nominated for the Nobel peace prize 12 days after he won the election. So don't tell me shit about his "efforts and accomplishments".

The whore - A Sacred Slut

The whore.
The symbol of pure sin itself.
A symbol for the promiscuous woman, the plague ridden harlot, the witch, the untamed, the rebellious, the sexually aggressive, the hungry and the needy. Throughout history the whore has it's place.
The profession reached its peak and downfalls side by side with world economy, war, plague, industrial revolution, cultural change, art, religion and so on. Prostitution is not the oldest profession we know of, but it has a very old history. There is no way I can write about every important event in history when it comes to prostitution, but I will try to mention the events I feel had a important impact. I wanted to take my time on this entry, to do the women and men in this profession proper justice. I hope I succeed.

The harlot was mentioned for the first time in the 4000 year old story from Mesopotamia: Gilgamesh.
The epic tale tells us about the prince Gilgamesh, and his very potent sexual appetite. No virgin, boy or girl, is safe in his presence. His subjects saw this as a result of boredom leading to rape. Subsequently the gods created Enkidu, to be his equal and companion. But before the two met, Enkidu had a 7 day long encounter with a harlot from Ishtar's Temple (Ishtar is the protector of all harlots, goddess of love, war and sex).
Over these 7 days she taught him to bathe, to break bread, she taught him motherly affection, orgasmic sex and more. He was given a course in civilisation, resting on authority from the highest level in the temple of love. At the end of these 7 days, Enkidu was a changed man:

"The woman reveals her breasts. She separates her legs and gives him her flesh. She shows her arts and awakes his manhood. Enkidu plows in the fields of love. For 6 days he is captivated by Ishtar's woman. The 7th day he is full with this human game. And he wants to go to the wild animals...But the knowledge weighs him down, his foot is paralyzed.
He sinks down at the feet of the harlot.
And his new mind, receives her words." [My translation, from Norwegian.]
(This should make most of you men out there sigh and nod, I would expect)

Gilgamesh and Enkidu meet, and after a long battle they realize they are equals. Both in strength and in bravery. Gilgamesh was tamed through his new friendship, and Enkidu through his lessons with the harlot. The two continued to do great deeds together, with less than subtle undertones of homosexual relations. The epos teaches us the importance of sexuality combined with respect. And most important of all, it teaches us that these two great warriors had their life changed and their perception of society altered, due to the wisdom of the Ishtar temple harlot - The whore.

Implicitly we can see that prostitution developed in and around Ishtar's temples in Mesopotamia.
The temples had it's function as residence for gods and goddesses, also creating a form of collective identity.
The priests and priestesses engaged in complex business activities, lending out money and accepting gifts and in return giving the people their protection. The priestesses participated in holy weddings (hieros gamos), and man was represented in the ritual by a king. The idea was to secure earth's fertility by collaboration between the earthly regent and the world of the goddess. Basically this was a sexual fertility rite, common round harvest time. As mentioned in an earlier blog entry, the woman's fertility is closely linked with harvest throughout history. Simply put, if the various kings didn't bone the temple harlots, the people lost faith in earth's fertility. The Ishtar temples are actually the first we see of organized prostitution, and even modern nunneries are vaguely based on this system. Proper role models if you ask me.

A commonly encountered question is "why would any woman want to be a prostitute"?
In Mesopotamia, women had few rights, they had no property, or legal protection.
Most families could not afford the dowry, and did not want their daughters to end up as slaves. (Inscriptions tells us that girls from aristocratic families also spent some time in the temples.)
Sending their most beautifully daughters to the temples, meant she would learn dancing, she would learn proper etiquette and knowledge about sexuality. Time spent in the temple functioned as a time of transcendence for the young girl into womanhood. The aristocrats and kings paid an offering to the gods, in order to have divine sexual relations with the girls. But not only for sex, mind you. Religious inscriptions tells us about medical healing and magical uprising, making the girls both nurses and sex therapists. Just like many prostitutes are to this very day. The magical ointment used by the temple harlots, was a well kept secret only known to them (more about this here). As the girls grew older, they made more money, gained more knowledge and became desired wives for aristocratic men. The harlots of Ishtar's temples were actually highly respected.

In most parts of the world, archaeologist have found female figurines, categorized as the neolithic primal Venus. With large breasts, wide hips and butts, these are for the most part found closely located to sacred and holy places. The woman has through out time been worshipped for her fertility, therefore she is seen with such voluptuous curves. We see her as the Sumerian Innana, in the Greek Aphrodite and roman Venus, or Astarte, the hindu Devi and Druga, as well as various Celtic, Germanic and Norse representations, such as Nerthus and Frøya.
Common to these, are their relations with a son, lover or relative. He usually dies, and rises along with the duality in rain and drought, sowing and harvesting the corn. We see him as Frey, Osiris, Priapus, Eros, Adonis, Attis, Ba'al, Tammus or Shiva. We can see the woman as the stable, strong and fertile mother earth herself, and the male as the growing, ejaculation/sprouting, and then the fall. Like the cycle of the year and grain itself.

So.
If this was the early image of the prostitute woman, how did it change?

In the old testament the whore is more or less the sum of all the negative qualities a woman can have. And what actually happened in the Garden of Eden? We all know the story about Eve literally getting both herself and Adam thrown out from paradise. Eve manipulated by the phallic snake, tempting the innocent Adam to eat the forbidden fruit from the three of the knowledge of good and evil, or so orthodoxy tells us. According to the Gnostics, Adam was the embodiment of psyche, or soul, while Eve stood for the pneuma, or spirit. (Eve translates as "Breath" - Pneuma - Breath, while Adam is related to Atman, breath or soul). In gnostic mysticism Eve is actually the liberator, the one who awakens Adam and herself up to knowledge, the snake being the real God, in fact, freeing human kind from ignorance. Thus the serpent earns his name Lucofer - the bringer of light. (From the latin lux, meaning light.) Little is known about the mysterious Eve, some trace her back to a Sumerian legend of Ninhursag containing interesting links to the Garden of Eden and the myth concerning the rib.

Centuries later Orphic mysticism dealt with the evil nature of woman, and we can read about her evil doings in letters from both Paulus and Johannes. Both judaism and protestant christianity have been kinder to Eve than these early christians. In the medieval jewish book The Alphabet of Ben-Sira, she is actually Adam's second wife, his first wife was the demanding and rebellious Lilith, a fallen female angel. Lilith refused to submit to Adam, and she refused to be on her back in the missionary position, laughing in his face when he tries to force her, and left him on the spot. Adam grew lonely and God gave him Eve, the submissive and obedient wife.

Lilith went on to become mother of all demons and other creatures of the night (excluding goths - LOL) both incubi (male) and succubi (female). Known as the sex demons, raping helpless men and women in their innocent sleep. Lilith is in modern time now known as a feminist icon, lending her name to numerous feminist organisations all over the world. Jewish protestant beliefs, preach the downfall of humanity resulting from the army of the demonic seductresses in hell. Lead on by Satan himself. When women become whores, and when men are tempted, it is all due to these demons of evil, and not because of Eve and woman's nature, as the papal church has traditionally held. According to them, Eve, the woman, is the main reason for all things bad.

By now the woman has transcended from The Mother Goddess, to be seen as The Mother of Sin.
One can maybe say that the woman was doomed due to Eve's actions in the Garden of Eden. She is no longer the all knowing, all seeing, fertile mother figure with immense sexual powers. She is the originator of sin, and the destroyer of man. In christian religion that is.
Let's move on to some of the types prostitutes history has shown us.

In Greek history around 400 BC, there were 3 different types of prostitutes, and these types we still see in modern society. The working girls of today are not at all that different.
Deiktrides were women on display much like we see in the contemporary sex industry, we see them in windows with red lighting, popular in the Philippines, Netherlands and Germany. These Greek girls were lower class, often sick, mocked and laughed at by the public. Almost all were slaves.
The alutrides were dancers and singers, much like the strippers of today. These girls had knowledge and skills. They were hired for parties and much praised by the public, free to do what they wanted and they made quite alot of money.
Then we have the Hetaera. They were the classical type of sex worker, publicly offering sex for money, but also hosting expensive parties, engaging in philosophical conversations with clients. We can compare these girls to the high class prostitutes today. These women were more free than the classical wife at the time, The Hetaera could go anywhere, while the married women had to obey her husband and was rarely seen in public. The Hetaera would also host parties ending in sex orgies, taking place in their own luxurious homes.

In Scandinavia, female slaves (thralls) kept the men content, so there are no known signs of prostitution until 1200-1300. We know all slaves throughout history have been sexually abused by their masters/owners. In Bergen, Norway, prostitution started to flourish druing the hanseatic trade period. In England and northern Italy app 1200 the authorities instigate public supervision of the prostitutes by various efforts, all depending on who was in charge. Public baths were built, and it was common knowledge what was going down inside. Public baths are still a common location for gay subculture. These baths were found in Norway, Germany, Denmark and England and so on. In brothels and baths, there was usually a woman in charge. Prostitution was mainly a woman dominated business. And in Paris they were organised as well, fighting for causes they believed in. (I will write more about the politically organized sex workers further down the blog.) The prostitutes had to be clean, and by that I mean clean inside out. They were not not allowed to engage in anal or oral sex, because the missionary position was the only approved position, both by the brothel mother and the church. The more acrobatic sexual practices didn't appear until the 1500-1600 in Paris, with the most expensive girls. It was also illegal to visit the brothels during fast or holy days, and this was a constant debate between the brothel owners and the authorities. So having sex with a prostitute was not illegal, it was common for both priests, young men, aristocrats, and married men. But fucking a whore Christmas eve? Unheard of!

Many of the prostitutes had live in partners or were married, so nothing has changed there. Some countries had laws against marrying a prostitute, and in Florance in 1403 a law made it illegal for all men over 30 to have sex with prostitutes, hoping this would make them want to get married. Since most men got their rocks off by a working girl, few saw the need for marriage. By 1400, the prostitutes had to stay in specific streets, and live in specific houses, and the stigma began to grow. Although there were annual celebrations such as Mary Magdalen day, where the prostitutes participated, it became more and more important for the government to separate the sex workers from the decent women, both in dress and head gear. The clothes varied in color and shape, such as black or red capes, or bells in their hats, depending on where in the world they were located. There were also color codes so the public would know the woman with a red ribbon was "one of those". Another important change was that when times were bad, the prostitutes were to blame for say a bad harvest, or say an increased death rate. A huge difference from what we saw as customs in Mesopotamia, where the whore was the main source for a fertile harvest.
The prostitute went from being popular entertainers, to being the hated, public scapegoat.

An important woman in history, is Mary Magdalen.
As the middle ages were replaced by the renaissance, Mary Magdalen became more and more sensual, in the Gothic period she wore her hair covered up, whereas she was now seen in art with free, flowing red hair and revealed breasts. Mary, as history's most famous prostitute, was portrayed by the most luxurious of courtesans. She was portrayed as the repenting and remorseful, retired prostitute, and the church loved the repenting whore. But there is no evidence that Mary was in fact a prostitute, and the difference between a prostitute and a promiscuous woman became very vague, and this distorted the government's attempts at keeping records of the amount of sex workers at the time, making the numbers seem higher. Some theologians held that any woman who slightly blushed by just thinking about "sex", was a harlot at heart. We can now clearly see the stigma of the whore, and the suppression of female sexuality coming to life. A woman having several sex partners, was simply labeled a whore.

1500 years of theology, art and writings, had changed the pictures of the new testament second most important woman from love goddess, to ex prostitute, to a repenting, celibate young girl: The ideal woman of the time: a married and submissive wife, obedient, and with no sexual urges.

And then came syphilis.
This disease would turn the sex industry up side down. Syphilis is a venereal decease - sexually transmitted. The word venereal actually has it's root in the name "Venus", the roman love goddess. In keeping with the ongoing reform of female sexuality and prostitution, the choice of word seems fitting.
And the general public was agreed on the source of this horrible disease: they all blamed the prostitute. Any woman infected, was chased out of the city in the 16th century, brothels got closed down, and hospitals refused to attend to the infected. These were horrible times for the working girls. Outcasts, sick and mocked by everyone.

A fantastic piece of art by Sandro Bot ticelli, "mystic cruxifiction", shows us the syphilitic Florence in the background, with the crying Mary Magdalen in front, embracing Jesus. With her in the foreground, Mary became the very symbol of guilt. The harlot, not Jesus, must carry humanity's sin on her shoulders. Just like Eve.

The prostitute is no longer known as the skilled, intellectual teacher. She is now the scum of the earth, causing sickness, and as the very core center for all depravity mankind engage in. And these events sets stage for what we see next.

Feminism.
Josephine Baker, Emma Goldman, Margaret Mead, Karen Horney and Simone De Beauvoir and Margot St. James all based their philosophies on freeing the woman from her biological role. They were pro sex, and the liberation it self was found in the power of choice. According to these feminists, the woman should be sexually active, they wanted the women to re-discover their desire. On their own terms, and with whomever they wanted. Birth control, such as being on the pill or inserting a diaphragm, was in it self an act of liberation. Being in control of the body, and choosing sex partner, was a liberation from the conservative religious views. These feminists knew their history, and the fight was against the conservative church, not men per say. They also propogated masturbation as a form of self discovery and liberation.
Some of these pro sex feminists, like Elise Ottesen-Jensen (aka Ottar), have more in common with Jenna Jameson than the man hating, sex loathing radical feminists who use her name today. (Thanks to Gird for that comparison.)
And these ladies affected the sex industry.

Up until now, young unmarried men, sailors, students, immigrants and solders had their sexual encounters with prostitutes. But as women became liberated, these men could get their satisfaction and sex without commitment, from more and more girls. The sex workers lost their function as sex educators. Syphilis also changed environment, now infecting the common man and woman due to the liberated newly discovered sexuality. Prostitution decreased side by side with the feminists who playfully called themselves "whores". This led to an interesting shift in the sex industry. The prostitution market advanced because of the need for kinky and advanced sex that the "descent" girls never even knew was possible, and if they did know, they certainly would not try any of it. Yet another very important factor is that as time went by, men started to find the courting, wining and dining, expensive and tedious. Some women started to button up their pants and wanted to wait longer before parting their legs. With sex, came a demand for commitment and respect. Some men felt insecure now that women were so liberated, free and demanding, some men lost their self esteem. This again led to men yet again turning to the experienced and elder whores for problem free, commitment free sex, and the sex therapist once again rose from the ashes, comforting men, making them feel powerful and masculine.

An important event took place in France, Lyon in 1975. The police, then as now, made life miserable for the sex workers, fining them on the spot, and throwing those with no cash in jail. June 3, 150 prostitutes sought church sanctuary. The result was 40 police officers breaking down the church doors, dragging the girls out by their hair. Other churches had similar experiences. This led the sex workers to get organized. In the 70's and 80's strong unions were founded in USA, Great Brittain, Thailand, Brazil, the Philippines, France, Australia and Norway. With names such as Coyote, Pony, Puma, Hydra, Passion, Ocelot. In Norway, Pion was founded in 1990. And they all had the same demands: De-criminalization of the profession, legal protection, freedom of speech, the right to keep their children and more. The International Committee for Prostitutes’ Rights was founded in the mid 70's.

In the 1970's some women felt they'd had "enough sexual liberty", and started to look down on promiscuous women. Lesbian feminists were taking over the women's movement, and feminists such as Kate Millet and Gloria Steinhem were important. And the stigma against the prostitutes now came from the feminist themselves. The prostitute was a fallen woman, weak, or animalistic, and not fully aware of her actions. This was in line with contemporary marxist theories. The women's movements shifted gear into a battle concerning who was with them or against them. Abortion became an important cause for the feminists, the right to decide over their own bodies. But not when it came to selling sex. Abortion was "good", prostitution was "bad".
To paraphrase the feminist Sheila Jefferey: prostitution is guerrilla training, and a rehabilitation center for sexual terrorists" This period in feminist history can be labeled as authoritarian, if not totalitarian.

Kathleen Barry (author of Female Sexual Slavery) invited Margo St. James (ex-prostitute, pro sex feminist and founder of COYOTE ), to participate at a congress consering prostitution. But as soon as Margo and her organised sex workers came with their politics, the fight was on. The right to decide for themselves was the main source of disagreement. During the congress, the prostitutes were not alowed to present their arguments, only to answer questions, and they had to leave the podium immediately thereafter. It was a horrible treatment of intelligent and strong women. Still Kathleen Barry was crowned "wonder woman" in 1983 for her feminist agenda. Go figure. Telecommunication data retention. In a proposed EU-side law, european internet service providers are requested to retain not only email, but any metadata of communication originating from their network . This issue is currently under debate in many europan countries, and several have voiced reservations, labeling the proposed law as unconstitutional. The politicians who are in favor of the law can't seem to dig up important arguments as to why we as civilians should welcome, or even accept such a restriction of our freedom.

The reason for this is, of course, simply because there are no good arguments. There is now way this law can be utilized as an effective tool for safety in our so called democratic society. Storing data from everyone, is labeling everyone as a potential criminal. A potential pedophile, a terrorist, a member of an organized crime network.
However, the claim is that the data will be available only if you commit a serious crime in the future. Then, and only then, will the police get access to your data trails. Well, atleast that's what they say now. Big Brother is watching you, and people are being watched in their sleep. What scares the shit out of me, is the amount of people who just don't care, claiming there is nothing to be afraid of - unless you are engaged in something dodgy. I want to reprase that to: "As long as you do as you're told."

Today John Ståle Stamnes from Kripos (the investive branch of the norwegian police) wrote about this in the biggest news paper in Norway. And by doing so, he reveals Kripos' lack of understanding of the internet, and also their unvillingness to attack internet crime from a different angle. The pedophile is a returning villain in his line of argumentation. I suppose this is in order to hopefully trigger the well known knee jerk response most people get from the word by itself. But the pedophile who downloads the child porn, is not the same person who raped the child in the first place. That child is allready a victim, and will remain so no matter how many people get arrested for wanking off to some underage filth. The child is primarily being hurt in the real world, not in cyberspace. The crime it being commited in homes, by dads and moms, by other family members and friends, by strangers, by pimps and by the mafia. These are the people that should be taken down. Take the producers, not the consumers.

The police don't need suveillance of you and me in order to do their job. By accepting this transgression against your privacy, you lower the bar for future abuse of power. you are in fact opening a door that cannot be closed. You are being watched while walking down the street, you are being watched while in the store, while in the bank, on the buss, in the train, on the plane. Everywhere. You don't need to be watched while you're on your computer as well.

Crime will not be prevented by watching you and me. Claiming so, is nothing more than an insult to these children. The people engaging in these crimes, are way ahead of the police, way more technically advanced using proxy servers, fake IPs and so on. Anyone who's spent alot of time online knows that child pornograpy is not rampant on google. It's a very closed lid business, with very limited access, for very few people. For this entry I will take you deep inside a world of ancient magic and reveal to you one of the darkest of taboos known to mankind.
Fall is upon us, what could be a more fitting subject than the mysterious and dangerous rituals surrounding the dead?

Life and death.
Most of us see those two words as a natural combination.
Others have a more literary take on it.
Going back to ancient Peruvian culture, Homer’s Odyssey, the renaissance demonic summonings. Everything deals with the following four:
1. Life
2. Death.
3. Sex.
4. Power

What would you wish for if you had the ability to control the above 4? All of us have a secret wish, It might be the wish of bringing back a loved one, it might be the secret lust for a beautiful woman that is out of your reach, maybe you want wealth, or power over people that have hurt you. Let yourself drift off into that forbidden fantasy that nobody else knows about, allow your self to fully explore every aspect of it as vividly as you can. Now, come back to reality and feel the frustration of not owning your deepest desire. Feels horrible, doesn't it.
Now, if you had the powers, what would you do? How far would you go?
The question is...would you bring back the dead...would you engage in necromancy?

From the beginning of time we as humans have had these secrets, desires and questions that needs answers. And when no mortal could come to our aid, we have often turned to our dead.
We ask our dead to tell us our future, to reveal secrets, to give us power and knowledge, we ask them to fight for us, to attack enemies or posses others. Several cultures believed that the dead had unlimited knowledge. Some, like the Greek and Romans, believed the knowledge you could access through the dead was limited to that which was within the deceased person's life experience.

In every culture we have funerary rites. We send our dead off to the gods, bringing gifts, amulets and talismans, and sometimes also loved ones (as in the now outlawed Hindu Satī practise, where the wife throws herself on her husband’s funeral pyre.) The Egyptians, and an array of other cultures used their Book of the Dead to help guide their deceased safely in the afterlife. Most cultures believe there is an afterlife, and this being granted, then the dead may hold the key to solving the riddle of eternal life. And if the gods do exist in the after life, wouldn't it seem a waste not to call on the dead and get infinite and eternal knowledge?

Today we call upon so called psychics to help us connect with the dead we can't bear to live without, or to give us the answers we need to find peace in life. But we don't call on our dead to learn knowledge from the gods, we want them to guide us in life. It's a billion dollar industry, talking to the dead during prime time TV, even the police sometimes ask for these psychics for help. Millions of frauds tap into our fear and our sorrow. We want to drag the dead back into our lives asking them to solve what we can't solve ourself. And in doing so, desperately trying to remove some of the paralyzing fear of death. After centuries of evolution, humans still die. And we just can't live with that.

Some cultures takes it even further.
A tale from Egyptian lore is at first glance a romantic and mystical story. Osiris was the king of Egypt and husband to the goddess Isis. Osiris's brother Set was so overcome with jealously due to his brother's power and position, that he lured him into a trap in the shape of a wooden sarcophagus which he threw into the Nile, in order to inherit his power and become king. Isis recovered the sarcophagus and buried him, but Set once again took his body, cut it into 14 pieces and scattered them across all over Egypt. Isis set out to find all the pieces of her husband, but could only recover 13. The missing piece was Osisis penis. Isis knew she had to give birth to a son to stop Set from taking the throne. She molded a phallus out of gold and used powerful magic to bring Osiris back to life, long enough to copulate with him and get pregnant with Horus before Osiris once again died. His souls (in Egyptian religion there are several souls) were in both the land of the dead and the land of the living. Simply put....Isis was having sex with the dead.

It might sound grotesque, but this is actually a metaphor on life, birth and death, or even the harvest it self. Several see similarities with Jesus and The Virgin Mary. (Jesus,the son of a god, gets killed, gets resurrected and brings salvation and eternal life, like Horus did). Some even believe the virgin Mary is actually the goddess Isis, and that Jesus is actually Horus himself. Claiming we are still worshipping Egyptian gods and have been doing so for the last 5000 years. The virgin Mary being the mother of god, and Isis being the goddess of maternity. Some believe the halo on Mary is actually the sun rising behind her, the sun being the creator of all life in Egyptian religion. The same theory goes for Jesus, making him a sun god rather than just the son of god. It's an interesting, but very far stretch, as the similarities tell us more about our needs as humans to create mythology than anything else, not to mention the number of differences and simplifications that prove this theory wrong.

In the Moche civilization in Peru,pottery has been found with images of skeletal figures engaging in coitus with the living. Necrophilia was practiced as a ritual to be able to communicate with the dead, some also engaged in necrophilia in hopes to revive the deceased, much like Isis did. I would go as far as calling these rituals a form of sex magic; the use of sexual energy combined with visualisation. But then we have those that doesn't have a spiritual purpose for their actions. Their practise has one goal, and that is the physical contact with the corpse. They have no desire to reach out to the other side, and converse with the divine gods. I honestly don't think there is a word that can trigger more fear and disgust in us humans than necrophilia. The people with this sexual preference are even more stigmatized than the paedophile.The terms first originated in Krafft-Ebing's Psychopathia Sexualis. (A must have if you don't all ready own a copy) It's a world of total darkness. It's a practise that violates normal limits to an extreme extent. (I am not going to write about homicidal necrophilia/Lust murder as there are a million blogs on that theme, or post pictures of role playing as in all honesty most of the pics look slike something out of a hight school project horror film) If you want a visual approximation, this world is captured in the art film Nekromantik (1987), still banned in numerous countries. Once and for all exposing the grim face of a male dominated, cynical industry that solemnly survives on exploited and weak women and the pigs that pay to ejaculate to their misery. The film shows what seems to be a rape scene. A unidentified woman is, according to Wolf, being gang raped by 5 partially masked men, Wolf manipulated the material slowing down the film making it appear as the woman was helpless and drugged. She chose to use scenes from the well known (porn) director Gregory Dark (with a taste for the hard and bizarre). He has directed mainstream Hollywood films, and he has a M.F.S from Standford University. But Wolf chose Dark's "Shocking truth" series because using a more mainstream porn film "could fool people into believing the porn actress was having a pleasurable experience..."
This sets the standard for the rest of the documentary.

And the effects? This single radical feminist managed to create a moral panic. The newspapers were covered with outraged headlines. Inger Segelström, leader of the Social Democratic Women's Association outed the managers of Canal + and TV1000 at the group's web site, declaring them "morally responsible for abuse of women". A fellow party member wanted a change in the law, even if it meant changing the constitution. She stated: "I have never seen anything like it, but I know violent porn when I see it!" The pay pr view-channels promised that there would be no "violent porn" and TV1000 made an offer to customers to censor their screens at home. The minister for business had to stop Telia's new pay per view channel. The government demanded that their officials spent their nights at hotels that did not offer porn on tv, while away on business. Video stores removed porn from the shelves. 57% of the Swedish population wanted to ban ALL porn.

That was in liberal Sweden. In conservative Norway we had more or less the same reaction. While some politicians, prior to being exposed to the documentary, had opened the doors to uncensored "erotic film" and liberalization, they now pulled a 180, and joined the rest of the media and the political Norway in a moral frenzy, stating porn as abuse, violence and filth. The radical feminist group Ottar expressed relief that the truth was finally revealed, not to mention the people who dragged paedophilia, satanism and zoophilia into the mix.

So Alexa Wolf directly contributed to changing the laws in atleast 2 countries. Was the truth about porn revealed by Wolf? No, it was not. The woman seen "drugged and raped" in the film, was not identified by Wolf. Doing research would not prove Wolf's view points I guess. But the woman has a name and her name is Mila Shegol. She is a very well known award winning porn actress with a huge number of outrageous porn films to show for. She is known as one the wildest girls in LA, and she is a winner of a porn Oscar for best anal scene. She also has a a Ph.D in psychology. Months later, Mila Shegol was interviewed by Robert Aschberg (TV3). She was articulated, intelligent, had a good sense of humor. She told him that she was not on drugs, she was not raped, it was all acting, she actually took part in directing the scenes where she engages in group sex, and she was the one with the creative idea on how to do the scenes. She now directs her own films and co-owns a production company. She was not a suffering, oppressed or exploited woman, and she had no idea there had been made a documentary about her alleged rape.

Who created a victim out of the successfully and strong Mila? The feminist Wolf.
Who created the stereotype as a sleazy, exploiting porn director out of the multi talented Dark? The feminist Wolf.
Wolf and many like her has this distorted idea that all women in porn must be either exploited, on drugs, suffering from childhood trauma or all ov the above. And if the woman doesn't fit this role, they will state she is a poor feminist, a horrible role model for other women, they will claim she is less intelligent, and that she needs protection.

To counter this view, I would postulate that:
1: Any man or woman is free to do whatever the fuck they want to, with their life and their bodies.
2: Role model? The last thing this society needs are more role models. Be your own gods, for fuck sake.
3: A poor feminist? The porn actress has taken control over her sexuality. That is pure power in my eyes.

But, did these facts change anything? No, they did not. When presented with the material from Robert Aschberg's interview , Alexa Wolf's comment was "this proves nothing". In 2000 a book titled "Shocking lies" came out in Sweden, debating lies and prejudice in the debate on pornography: "If a woman is being gang raped, she is being fucked by 5 men. This woman (in shocking truth) is being fucked by 5 men. Ergo she is being gang raped." Quote Henrik Tornberg.

The truth is, it doesn't matter. When the government, the media, the Christians, the feminists and the like comes together in moral witch hunt, it does not matter one bit what the fact tell them, when it comes to porn. Not responding to Wolf's "documentary" would have been political suicide, and for the rest us us... Well... Who has the guts to be the single voice willing to defend a industry who has it's foundation based on the sticky taboo of masturbation? There seems to be a collective belief that if society is exposed to porn, we as humans will not be able to handle it. We will all end up having a "distorted sexuality", become obsessed with masturbation and blasphemous sex orgies, and that fear simply reeks of conservative Christianity. (And we all know who has a distorted view on the human body and its sexual usage.)

Mila can prove her mental stability all she wants, but the extreme feminists and the anti-porn wing doesn't care. They need her to be a victim. They need all porn stars to be victims so they can prove themselves right. Let me explain something very important: Having an emotional reaction is not the same as being right. The emotional reaction you might experience while watching a woman having group sex, does not mean that is how SHE is feeling. Holding hands and walking in to the sunset might get you off, but for other girls a brutal anal DP does the trick.

Women are individuals, and we are not linked up by some emotional and moral extra sensory network. What might seem very brutal and extreme to you, might be exciting and pleasurable to someone else. Remember that.
Who informs you? You HAVE to question everything, always.
Issues come with the person, not the profession.
I am not stating the porn industry is problem free. Like any other industry dependent on a capitalist system, there will be bitches and bastards.

Years back, at a lecture in art history, I was mesmerized in learning that religious art often hid secrets of erotic and pornographic nature. This professor talked to us about paedophilia, prostitution and homosexuality. I want to share what she inspired me to further investigate. Sadly, this is a massive subject, multi layered, so I can only scratch the surface for you. There will be no split beavers or cum shoots, but hopefully I can change your mind about the virgin prudes, and the chubby baby angels.

Let's start it off with the famous Mary Magdalene. The controversy surrounding her is still going on. Most seem to agree it was sin and sexuality that led to her dodgy reputation as a whore. Magdalene is portrayed with fiery red hair, often not covered like decent women of that time should be. Red hair is a symbol of desires of the flesh, and free flowing hair is a symbol of a untamed woman, someone who goes against society's rules on morality. But most important of all is the jar of ointment. A common symbol of prostitution in art. The prostitute would carry the jar with them to clients and used the ointment in their work. Magdalene is also often portrayed with this jar, even as she is repenting her sins, we can see her with her voluptuous breasts revealed, her free flowing red hair, and the jar beside her.

A woman with a jar, vase , pot or chalice is a known symbol in art all the way back to Sumerian times. The opening of the jar can be viewed as opening the Pandora's box, or as the exposing of female sexuality and female powers. A woman with a jar understands how to control fertility ( presumably this symbol dates back to agricultural revolution when jar makers allowed women to store seeds and foodstuffs)

The virgin Mary often has her breast revealed, either shown breastfeeding baby Jesus or simply just holding baby Jesus in her arms. And when Mary is not breastfeeding baby Jesus, the revealed breast becomes obviously erotic. Mind you, there are several portraits of Mary breastfeeding Jesus, even with a facial expression of lust. Often the face of Baby Jesus has adult features, voluptuous curves or suggestive positioning of his body, and this reinforces the erotic content. (Sounds perverse? The sexual portrayal of children was not found objectionable until at least the late 18th century.) You have to realize that was no mass media, except through the church, and most of what was written down was religious texts, and the people who could afford to pay the famous painters, could not jeopardize their reputation. This is why the porn of those days were hidden in layers of symbols, mysticism and religious imagery. Using the golden ratio and also drawing up the lines following the eyes of angels gazing at them, the lines surprisingly often ends up at Mary's nipple, or Jesus' penis. ( note: the level of erotic content exploded once art matured from the more iconic art of the medieval period into the renaissance of modern Europe)

Although the painting is showing a religious setting, the painter created a play if you will, using various symbols, compositions, colors, expressions and using the light to emphasise specific body parts. And what can be more alluring than combining Christianity, sin and sexuality? The artists tapped into the suppressed sexuality and the fear of hell in the audience: "I can't look, but I can't look away" As long as the young man was staring at the virgin Mary's erect nipple, he felt safe from the devils claws. It was an innocent setting. Who were the models for the paintings of Magdalene? Various courtesans, also women of high standard had no issues with posing nude, though always under pseudonyms of various mythological names such as Magdalene, Pandora and Venus.
(Exception: the wonderful Nell Gwynn but that is another entry.)

The best example of erotic art can be found in "The Ecstasy of St. Teresa" by Gianlorenzo Bernini. At first glance you see a rather typical setting of a woman draped, head tilted back, and an seraph standing over her with a spear. This sculpture how ever, is much more complex. Let me introduce you to Saint Teresa of Ávila, a Spanish mystic and the founder of Discalced Carmelites. Teresa of Ávila had from early age been searching for a deeper meaning in life. She ran away from home aged 7 looking for martyrdom, and at 20 she joined the Incarnation of the Carmelites. She fell ill, and during her illness she had overpowering religious experiences of religious ecstasy, using various mystical ascetic works such as Tercer abecedario espiritual, Tractatus de oratione et meditatione and possibly the Spiritual Exercises by the legendary St. Ignatius of Loyola.

She became obsessed with the matters of sin and the Divine, and began experimenting in self torture and mortification of the flesh. In 1559 she has her first vision of Christ. He presented him self in full bodily form and these visions lasted for 2 years. And it was at this time in her life she has a vision of a seraph driving a golden lance repeatedly through hear heart, causing her tremendous spiritual and physical pain. "I saw in his hand a long spear of gold, and at the iron's point there seemed to be a little fire. He appeared to me to be thrusting it at times into my heart, and to pierce my very entrails; when he drew it out, he seemed to draw them out also, and to leave me all on fire with a great love of God. The pain was so great, that it made me moan; and yet so surpassing was the sweetness of this excessive pain, that I could not wish to be rid of it.."
Sounds like she was getting off to me. This experience inspired her to live her life as the suffering Jesus under the motto: Lord, either let me suffer or let me die.

This is the story behind the sculpture and I wanted to show you the extraordinary facial expressions on both the seraph and on Teresa. The spear is phallic, her face is orgasmic and the seraph is obviously thinking: "Who's yo' daddy, biatch".
Nunsploitation films are not all taken out of the blue after all. "The Ecstasy of St. Teresa" is a magnificent piece of art, the craftsmanship is outstanding, but I love it the most for it's erotic and multi layered secrets.

Let me end it all with gay porn. How fitting is that? A perfect example is the numerous painting of St.Sebastian, martyr and officer. He refused to sacrifice to the roman gods as he was a devout christian, and was sent to prison. In prison he converted numerous people to Christianity, and was later sentenced to death for betrayal by his former commander in chief. He was tied to a pole his body was pierced by multiple arrows. He survives but is later killed by the same man. St. Sebastian is a well known gay icon. All though very little information points us in this direction. Both Oscar Wilde and Yukio Mishima has reinforced this in their art and literature. This painting of St.Sebastian by Guido Renis shows us why so many view him as a homo erotic icon. Homosexuality was common in north Italy in the mid 1600, and St.Sebastian also had a homo erotic appeal all though the medieval ages. His pelvic is painfully pressed forward, his face slurred by the orgasm, his hips round and sultry, his pale skin repeatedly penetrated by phallic arrows, his submissive feminine arms tied up in bondage.
C'mon now...don't tell me that dude doesn't like the dick.

I could go on and on, there are so many sexy settings in the world of art. And to me this art are so much more erotic and interesting than contemporary provocative art. There are so much history, so much to learn hidden in the layers. The ruby red lips, the coy eyes, the voluptuous baby angels, the erect nipples and the free flowing hair desperately trying to cover up flesh bursting with lust and desire. The mystique lies in the silence of the faces. It's all up to you to explore them all, to experience the forbidden throbbing caused by sexual arousal, shared by the thousands throughout time.

Trepanation - bliss or simply just bloody?

Trepanation. I was very young the first time I read about the practice, but it took many years before I realized how complex the history really is. Most of you how know of trepanation, will think of it as simply drilling a hole in the head. That is correct, but the drilling it self is actually the least interesting part of it all. Imagine that? Usually drilling in the head would get me all enthusiastic, but it is the mythology surrounding trepanation that really gets me going.

Treapanation is an ancient practice, skulls with holes in their head has been found in most parts of the world, and it is probably the oldest surgical procedure for witch there is evidence. And the evidence shows us that the skulls had signs of structural healing and this means patients survived the operation. This can maybe explain why it was so wide spread and also the amounts of skulls found with the characteristic holes; if people died from trepanation it would not be such a massive phenomenon.

The procedure it self is very simple, creating a hole in the skull using various tools, removing a fragment of bone in the scull and revealing the dura matter. From here though, we can go in a multitude of different directions.Cave paintings shows us that trepanation was used to cure migraine, and in the middle ages it was practised to cure seizures. It has been used to cure mental illness, to cast out evil spirits and also non therapeutic both post and pre mortem. But I want to focus on the modern voluntary trepanation.

And then we have to start if off with Bart Hughes, a Dutch librarian known for his publication "The Mechanism of Brainbloodvolume". He was the founder of the trepanation movement in 1962, and he is also known for performing his own trepanation. Hughes believed that evolution is self was the number one key to loss of consciousness, meaning the transformation from primate to upright stand caused the blood flow to be limited by gravity. Hughes believed that the key was found in the unsealed sculls of babies. The skulls of infants are not sealed and the brain is allowed to pulsate in beat with the heart, and as the child grows the brain is sealed in by bony carapace, reducing free thinking, dreams and fantasy. After observing a man standing on his head at a hash party in Ibiza claiming it got him high, he came to the conclusion that blood flow was in control of psychic enlightenment. Hughes believed drilling a hole in his head would increase blood flow and he would achieve his permanently higher level of vision.

Hughes believed that the holes found in skulls all over the world, was the mystical third eye it self. (Mind you, Hughes was heavily into LSD and marijuana at this time, he named his daughter Maria Juana). In his first attempt at a trepanation he used electric drill, a surgical knife and a hypodermic needle for anaesthetics. He revealed him self at a "happening" 10 days later. After giving a press conference and going to the hospital to get his x-ray taken, he was locked up for 3 weeks in psychiatric care. Go figure. "Gravity is the enemy, the adult it it's victim, society it it's disease. My problem is how to explain to the adult he has too little blood in his brain to understand, when he has too little blood in his brain to understand that."
Ah, the wonders of LSD.

In the footsteps of Hughes there are several followers. Amanda Feilding and Joey Mellen (author of the book "bore hole") are two of the well known ones, both performed their own trepanations, both claiming it instantly changed their lives. Both experimenting with LSD and various others drugs. Amanda Feilding actually filmed her own trepanation ( "Heartbeat in the brain), but has not put the film out. I've only seen pictures and in all honesty it has to be some of the more bizarre pictures I have seen. Amanda smiling with blood poring down her face. Joey has more trouble with his procedure since for the first attempt , Amanda used a hand drill, almost cracking open his skull. (Feilding ran for Parlament twice, on the platform 'Trepanation for the National Health")

Interestingly, people still believe drilling a hole will give them the ultimate consciousness. We see the modern primitives performing trepanation and documenting every detail. They still perform it in central Africa and in India. I doubt they engage in LSD as well. From reading the diary of one individual who had assisted trepanation, he felt no effects 6 months after having it done, and he believes the vague effects he felt the weeks after, was due to healing of tissue and blood flow to that specific area.

I will argue that the effects documented are similar to the the psychological effects one can experience from undergoing rituals. It's not the hole, it's not the brain pulsating, it's not BrainBloodVolume.
It's just a normal psychological/physical reaction to healing, and mental development through cognitive therapy. Unless you are trippin out on LSD that is. Then cutting of a leg would make you see God.

To sum it up, I am all for it. What ever you want to do is nobody's business but your own. And as long as you don't hurt anyone by doing it, I don't care what strange and bizarre activities people engage in. Just remember: There is a fine line between enlightenment and brain damage in this case.

Update October 6th: The execution of Broom - convicted of rape and murder - is on hold ahead of a federal court hearing on 30 November., along with two other convicts. His lawyers argue that an unprecedented second execution attempt on Broom would violate a constitutional ban on cruel and unusual punishment.Gov Ted Strickland ordered all three executions to be halted.He said the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction needed more time to finish updating its protocols for dealing with long delays in finding suitable veins on inmates.

Today's news told me about Romell Broom and how he was TORTURED for more than 2 hours. He is one of the many American sentenced to death in the US. The executioners tried to find a usable vein strong enough to deliver the three-drug lethal injection. He even tried to help by shifting positions, rubbing his arm and pointing out possible usable veins. He was seen covering his face in agonizing pain. He cried, asking to talk to his lawyer, but was denied this right. They ended the attempt to kill him because of the Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution: the ban on cruel and unusual punishment. So killing someone with poison is not cruel? I am shaking with rage. Romell Broom has been on Death Row in Ohio since 1984. Romell Broom is convicted of killing and raping, not once but twice. Listen: I don't give fuck if he raped all your 14 kids, ate your mom, shoot the president or went on a 14 day killing spree. Death penalty is wrong in every possible way.

If the purpose is to set an example for the rest of the population, to show that killing is wrong, the sheer irony should end this practice today. Death penalty is a violation on human rights. Period.

Let me educate you on lethal injections.
A physician should not participate in killing people, they are in the business of preserving life. The American Medica l Association states that it's up to each physician decide if he is pro or against killing people. " The AMA Code of ethics [6] specifically prohibits prescription by a doctor of the drugs for lethal injection. Ethical and legal constraints forbid pharmacists dispensing a drug without a valid prescription. A valid prescription can only be written by a doctor with an established relationship to the patient, with the patients consent, for the benefit of the patient, and in the area of the doctor's expertise, among other requirements."
Sodium thiopental is used to induce unconsciousness. Pancuronium bromide cause muscle paralysis and respiratory arrest. Potassium chloride to stop the heart. Sounds smooth and un cruel right? The doses injected are standard, not adjusted for each individual. A research letter publicized by University of Miami researchers, stated that post-mortem concentrations of thiopental in the blood were lower than that required for surgery in 43 of 49 executed inmates(88%); 21 (43%) inmates had concentrations consistent with awareness. This means that some of the people being killed like this, suffered agonizing and extreme pain.

Since the drugs often are injected by people with no medical training, we end up with situations such as Angel Nieves Diaz. After 35 minutes he was still not dead, so they injected him with a second dose claiming this was needed due some liver dysfunction. Autopsy showed no dysfunction and that the needle had pierced through his flesh not his vein. Pain free death anyone?
Research show that the doses leaves humans paralyzed and aware, experiencing the intense burning caused by potassium chloride and suffocation due to the paralytic effects of pancuronium bromide.
This is torture. Period.

In 2008 Ninety three percent of all known executions took place in five countries: China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and the USA. I will leave that sentence to speak for it self. Of the 58 countries we know practice death penalty, only 25 of them carried them out in 2008. 93 countries does not practice death penalty. 37 human beings were killed by death penalty in the states in 2008. So far 35 in 2009. Since 1975: 1173 killed. Numbers. Humans with family, children....killed by the system. Since 1975, 120 humans has been released from death row on grounds of innocence. In 2008, 4 humans spent a decade on death row before being found innocent. The longest-serving executed inmate so far spent 35 years. This causes the death row phenomenon where humans become mentally ill. (yet still executed mind you...)
Amnesty international states that American is one of the 5 countries that "provide the greatest challenge towards global abolition of the death penalty. "
Don't get me started on the electric chair. I'll just post pictures instead.

What does this cost the American tax payers? The sums are completely mind blowing, in the hundreds of millions each year in the different states. Money that could be spent on rehabilitating, institutions and creating a safe system for both the criminals and the society.

In Norway during the viking-era in the mid 900, we practiced "Bloodhevn" (blood revenge). This means if someone killed one in your family, the family revenged their loss by killing the killer or one of his family members. Even though this was an inhuman practice, at least it wasn't the system doing the killing. Repeat please: Don't kill for me. Don't kill.

Symbols OV communication

Most of us have one or more symbols that will trigger inner peace, rage or feelings of power.
History are filled with them, and some change shape and meaning with time due to culture, evolution, conflicts etc.The symbol is usually a geometrical construction, and holds no meaning, until we add meaning and give it power.

The symbol in it's original form is neutral, then the constructor adds his/hers intentions. The symbol now holds meaning for the constructor, and as soon as he/she shares the symbol and shares the intent behind it, the symbol will spread and begin it's life as a tool of communication. It's an efficient way of marking our surroundings, and we have expressed ourselves, telling stories, for as long as we've had the knowledge and tools to do so. It's a protest, it's an expression of love, it's a ritual. It's a way of saying " I was here" It's all about leaving traces. Creating trails for whom ever follows down the same pathway.

I am a huge fan of street art, and it is interesting to see how the art changes from one part of the city to the next, to examine the varies in political and cultural expression. We wear them round our necks, we carve them into our skin and we paint them on walls. We as humans have a strong need to make our mark on our surroundings. What is important to the urban human.

The band Psychogeographical Commission stuck a cord with me with their release "Genius Loci", I did a review on them for Heathen Harvest a while back and they have the same philosophy as I do. Quote from the review: "While neo folk bands attempt to recreate a past that never existed, a world we long for, a world we never even knew, this takes place here and now. By way of electronic drones and ambient soundscapes, this deals with the industrial world, and the search for spirituality and mythology in our time. The Psychogeographical Commission has chosen another path by saying the industrial world is no longer new and unknown to us, we don't need to long for the lost and forgotten times, we need to find our spirituality and mythology right here and right now." Symbols play a big part in this.

I use symbols everyday to express myself, and I feel connected to people who use the same symbols. Together we create magic. Together we add symbology to the geometrical constructions. It's instant communication. Instant understanding. It's pure energy. By using symbols you can draw people closer, or you can tell them to stay well away. The psychic cross (at the top) created by Genesis, is a fantastic example. He wanted it to be up to us to decide what the symbol means, yet the symbol holds meaning for a group of people with similar interests. Douglas Pearce still creates controversy with his use of symbols. I always tell people to think long and hard before wearing a powerful symbol. They have to understand what the symbol means to other people, what it _symbolizes_. I never use a symbol I don't identify with, as it will give me bad energy and I see it as a severe insult to the people it belongs to.

Using a symbol as a fashion statement or as a method to connect with a group, will come back to haunt you, and you will wear your ignorance on your sleeve. Some of the symbols are so powerful and must be used with great care. Are you sure you are man/woman enough to wear a big swastika on your chest? With any symbol I will ask you the question: What does it mean to you? And you better have an answer. It will reveal everything about you, so choose wisely. My partner and I use symbols in our music, in our street art, in our home. And those symbols brings us closer to each other and closer to the people we connect with. The symbols are my tools to create distance and my keys to open doors. We have created our own symbol and it has traveled all over the globe and now has it's own life. As any symbol should. It's not a question of who you want to be, it's a question of who you are and what you want to accomplish.

The symbols will make you or break you.

Some of you will remember the singer from INXS who died from auto-erotic asphyxiation jn 1997, and most recently David Carradine (famous actor) was found dead in his hotel room in Bankok due to auto-erotic asphyxiation.
Yet most of you don't know much about this strange practice. Breath control is something so deviant most will live their life not knowing about it's obscure, and deadly nature. Estimated deaths pr year is 500-1000 in the united states alone. I don't have statistics for the rest of the world but cases are found worldwide. Boys as young as 12-13, and even men in their 80's, but most frequently caucasian men in their 20's. The numbers tell us that the number of people who practice this dangerous sex game, is probaly quite high.

Auto-erotic asphyxiation is a complex subject, with several sub groups and I will only deal with some of them in this blog (I will leave out assisted asphyxiation). Since this is a very private practise, interviewing cases is not an easy task. Considering this, most of the information is found in the investigation of accidental deaths, interviewing family members and partners. Some of the cases can be further complicated with regards to determining whether or not it was a homocide or a suicide, but for the trained experts there are certain criteria that must be met for it to be an auto-erotic asphyxiation death. Family members who are so unfortunate to find their loved ones in such a grotesque setting are know to clean up the room, thus making it impossible for police too know that auto-erotic asphyxiation was the cause of death.
What we do know from interviewing familymembers and partners is that behaviour prior to their death commonly include mood swings and anxiety, but rarely suicidal tendencies.
And let's be honest, who would want to kill them self and be found dead with various deviant porn spread out all over the floor, while having a wooden leg stuck up their ass, dressed up in female clothing?

Auto-erotic asphyxiation is, simply put, cutting off the blood supply to the brain causing enhanced sexual pleasure. It is dangerous because the time it takes from cutting off the oxygen to loosing consciousness might be as short as 7 seconds, with as little as seven punds of pressure.
This is why mind blowing and impressive safety mechanisms are so often found. Some of the cases I have read are so intricate it would impress any engineer. It is obviously something they must have spent a great deal of time to perfect. The intention is to survive, not to die from the ritual. But for every death, we are left with more information.

I've read alot on the psychological nature asumed to be the triggers, but most of it is outdated freudian bullshit. As with any fetish the triggers are higly individual. Interestingly though, very few female cases are known. I am assuming this has to do with male vs. female sexuality (and that is different blog alltogether). As mentioned above, porn is very common as well as other fetish elements.

This practice naturally involves a great deal of pain, so we must include elements of masochism in our understanding of the subject. And don't think we are just talking about rope meets neck. Oh no, people chain themselves to moving cars, hang themselves from ladders in sewers, they wrap themselves in carpets, use plastic bags, intricate rope systems, toxic fumes, tractors and so on. Combine this with any fetish imaginable and we are left with one of the most complex sexual practices known to mankind.

Interestingly these people live on the edge of life in more ways than one. First they practise masturbation which by itself is a taboo. Second, they engange in a fetish witch is another taboo, and third, they master (most of the time) controlling their body and breath and thus having the power to controll life and pleasure itself. From the few interviews that exist we know that asphyxiation is something they practise frequently and obsessivly. I wonder if this can be related to the release of dopamine (pleasure chemical produced by the brain) thereby creating an addiction.

Sexuality is complex and varied, and even though auto-erotic asphyxiation might seem too bizarre for most of you, it can be your husband or your boss. Deviation is not a sign we carry around our necks. Pun intended.

Fengselssystemet i Norge.
Per Willy Amundsen (FrP) uttalte under fengselsdebatten at kriminelle fra øst Europa ikke ser soningen i norske fengsler som straff, grunnet de gode forholdene vi har her. Jeg undrer meg på om Amundsen ønsker seg tilstander vi ser i amerikanske fengsler? Eller dødsstraff?

Jeg vil skrive litt om konseptet straff. Definisjonen på straff innen norsk rett er «et onde som staten påfører en lovovertreder på grunn av lovovertredelsen i den hensikt at det skal føles som et onde». Allmennprevensjon er grunnsteinen i begrepet straff i Norsk rettsystem. Mennesker skal avskrekkes fra å begå ulovlige handlinger, borgere skal gjennom dette få en moralforståelse rundt rett og galt. Borgere skal ha en grunnleggende frykt for å skade samfunnet gjennom sine handlinger. Dette gjelder i mindre grad for de som allerede er på utsiden av samfunnet, og som da altså har lite å tape på å gjøre seg skyldig i dårlig moral.

Det vi med sikkerhet kan si er at så lenge den kriminelle sitter inne, kan han ikke begå nye lovbrudd. Men personen skal ut igjen i samfunnet og statistikkene er entydige på at soning ikke reduserer gjentakelsesprosenten. Tvert om. Nå vil Frp fjerne all støtte til rehabilitering, og de vil at straffen skal sones tiden ut, i motsetning til mulighet for prøveløslatelse etter 2/3 av soningen slik som nå. Nå viser forskning at det er nettopp rehab, utdannelse og terapi som gir de gode resultatene for de som soner, og å fjerne dette er jo nettopp å fjerne mulighetene for de kriminelle å lære om denne moralen samfunnet vil de skal forstå og respektere. (For ikke å snakke om at fulltidssoning antas å koste samfunnet 1.9milliarder, men det er en annen blogg.)

Frp og mange med de, tror at en hard straff er måten man reformerer mennesker på. De mener at å stenge mennesker inne, nekte de kontakt med resten av samfunnet, vil få kriminelle på magisk vis til å angre. Og anger er er viktig ord. Et meget ladet ord. Man angrer når man føler man har skadet andre, eller seg selv gjennom handlinger. Men man kan ikke tvinge mennesker til å føle anger gjennom straff, fordi de har gjort seg skyldig i dårlig moral ovenfor et samfunn de ikke er en del av. I fengsel fjerner man mennesker fra resten av samfunnet, vi plasserer de sammen med andre som er på utsiden. Sammen med andre som har rusproblemer, traumer, som er passivt aggressive mot samfunnet, seg selv og andre. Og sammen skal disse menneskene lære å angre...

Restorative justice, eller meklingsmøter, der den kriminelle møter sine ofre, har statistisk gode resultater. Da er han/hun ansikt til ansikt med mennesket de skadet fysisk eller psykisk, og man fjerner denne latterlige illusjonen om at kriminelle vil lære noe som helst av en kollektiv straff fra et abstrakt samfunn. Det blir et konkret møte. Følelser får en knagg å henge på. Ikke minst skapes det kommunikasjon.

La meg snakke litt om hvorfor mennesker blir kriminelle. For det er et hav av ulike årsaker. Og jeg tror ikke mennesker tenker over at mange av de som sitter inne faktisk er så mentalt syke at de aldri vil kunne forstå hva det er de skal lære gjennom straffen. Og så har vi mennesker med tunge rusproblemer som ikke har andre valg enn å begå kriminelle handlinger for å overleve. Du har de som grunnet sitt traumatiske liv aldri har lært massens oppfatning av moral, utover å trosse den. Mange kriminelle er irrasjonelle i sitt ønske om å straffe samfunnet, de ser ikke at samfunnet består av individer og at samfunnet er på mange måter en illusjon. Det er også mange ulike typer for destruktiv atferd, og suisidal atferd. Det som de fleste borgere oppfatter som hærverk og meningsløs adferd, er ofte et resultat av et menneske som har gitt opp, som ønsker å knuse alt og alle. Fordi han/hun er selv knust, uønsket, forkastet. Når et menneske har fra barndommen blitt slått, avvist, misbrukt, skuffet og feilbehandlet er det rimelig innlysende at de ikke har samme forståelse av hva god moral består i. Og hvor skal de lære dette? I fengsel? Og hvor er individet? Mennesker er ulike og reagerer ulikt på straff på samme måte som du og jeg reagerer ulikt på feks belønning. Vi kan ikke behandle kriminelle som en ensartet gruppe.

Og de kriminelle psykisk syke som blir plassert i fengsel? Jeg så en doku fra et norsk fengsel der en ung gutt på 19-20 år kuttet opp albuekroken. Han var desperat etter menneskelig kontakt, ble sendt på sykehus, lappet sammen og sendt rett tilbake til fengselet samme kveld. Han kjørte fingrene inn i det dype såret og rev opp stingene. Fengselsvaktene dro han til belterommet der han ble liggende fastspent til neste dag. Gjennom dette skal han lære moral og anger?

Forholdene for norske fanger er ikke for milde. Fengsel skaper ikke gode moralske borgere. Fengsel avler hat, raseri og skuffelse. Det skaper avstand til samfunnet og det påfører mennesker psykisk sykdom de må leve med resten av livet. Jeg gremmes over at vårt moderne samfunn ikke har kommet lengre i kriminalomsorgen. Åpen soning har gode resultater, men åpen soning fungerer ikke for alle. Vi må avvikle fengselssystemet og opprette behandlingssentre med tett oppfølgning med fagpersonale, styrke ettervernet og jobbe preventivt i samfunnet. Min kjære Panzram skrev om dette i 1930. Fengsel er tortur.

Vi er alle mennesker, avvikere eller ikke.

White norwegians moving their children to "white" schools. They claim it's not racism. They only want their children to have white norwegian friends, to have white children they can identify with, children who speak the same language they do. They want their children to learn norwegian culture. And they even admit to contributing to segregation, but like they say in their own words: " to those of you who criticize me, you can take my place" And I would in a heartbeat If I had kids. Norwegian culture... It's a term that has several layers. There is an ongoing debate over the meaning and content of norwegian culture, and the only conclusion to me is that the term itself is vague and undefineable, at least in a traditional sense. And it is in this traditional sense these ethnic norwegians think. They have an archaic view on norwegian culture. Clinging to the 1950's if you will. And herein lies the racism. Norway is a multi cultural country, and has been so for about 45 years. ( Not counting the Sami people, Gypsies [lack of a better term]and The Fins) Mela is norwegian culture now, muslim mosques are norwegian culture, all the world religions are practised in norway. You can find a restaurant from every corner of the world here in Oslo, even norwegian restaurants, serving old style norwegian food. STILL these parents cling onto the past due to their fear. So now we have "white" schools and "mixed schools" Is there another word for that besides segregation? No. Is there another word for parents who take their children out of mixed schools and place them in white schools than rascism? No. I really don't give a shit about all the fluff they wrap around their opinions, all their fancy words and so called "honesty" It's racism, and there is no other word for it. This country is in a state of fear, a fear created by media and the extreme right. There was a shooting next to my work place, and the first thing my mom ask me was : "was he black?" No mom he was not black. There was a stabbing outside my block and everyone assumes the stabber was black. There is a head line conserning a rape, and everone assumes the assailant to be black. The mentality these people have makes me seriously ill, and I fear the next level of bigotry.

And then we have the 3. and 4. generation of imigrants who ALSO move their kids to more white schools... Because they are so pressed on the matter of "integration" they are willing to sacrefice their own culture to become more "norwegian". It's so important for them to be seen as some of the few imigrants who are accepted. What ever happened to the Salad Bowl? I like salad, it makes my life more interesting. The illusory melting pot of olden days is not just out dated, it's a very naive and assimilst way of thinking. What's so horribly wrong with being multi cultured? Why can't we have both? Why can't ethnicity be a thing of worth and pride? Norway is a cold country....and I fear a winter of hate is upon us...

Jeg vil ta for meg noen av argumentene til de av dere som stemmer ved valg, og se nærmere på hva de argumentene faktisk inneholder.

1: De som ikke stemmer, kan heller ikke klage.
Jeg vrir det, og sier at de som stemmer kan faktisk ikke klage.
De har brukt sin stemme til å fremme et system, du har gitt idioter makt og er _direkte_ ansvarlig for feilene de begår. Jeg som ikke stemmer, kritiserer systemet, tar avstand og gir ikke min støtte. Jeg er totalt fritatt for ansvar, og jeg er i min fulle rett til å kritisere både systemet og deg for å ha bidratt.

2:De som ikke stemmer kan ikke forandre/ bidra til samfunnet.
Vi som ikke stemmer forandrer samfunnet nettopp gjennom å ikke stemme. Lav valgoppslutning fører til forandring, det fører til ettertanke og undersøkning. Det fører til nye strategier. Det kan føre til at de som styrer mitt samfunn tvinges til å tenke nytt. Du kan også forandre samfunnet ved andre metoder. Ved frivillig arbeid, ved å demonstrere, ved å skrive brev til ambassader og regjeringsmedlemmer, ved å gi støtte til diverse organisasjoner. Jeg vil minne dere på at samfunnet trenger en motpol og jeg er en del av denne motpolen. som jeg har sagt så mange ganger før: Samfunnet du lever i er bygget på revolusjon. Ingen motstand; ingen frihet.

3:Om man som velger ikke har et parti man er enig med, må man velge trategisk eller velge det man er mest enig med/minst uenig med.
Skremmende. Om noen spør meg hva jeg ønsker å velge av pest og kolera, sier jeg nei takk til begge deler. Logisk konsekvens av et umulig valg. For det er nettopp det dette handler om, det å velge. Du har et valg, du trenger ikke stemme på det partiet som du er minst uenig med, du kan bare la være å stemme på det. Easy. Jeg vil aldri gi støtte til noe jeg er 60% enig i, eller 80% enig i.

Jeg vil skrive litt om det å bidra til samfunnet.
Å være en outsider krever sin kvinne og jeg har styrken til det.
Som en som ikke stemmer, får jeg ofte kommentarer som at jeg er lat, naiv og lignende.
Det preller av meg. Jeg vil igjen snu dette og påpeke at svært mange av de som stemmer ved valg (ikke alle), lener seg godt tilbake i sofaen og tenker at nå har jeg gjort mitt. Men jeg som ikke stemmer, bruker hele året på å prøve å påvirke gjennom å delta i demonstrasjoner, skrive brev til maktpersoner og organisasjoner, mailer, blogge, gjennom kunst og musikk. Å forandre et samfunn er en konstant kamp, og er ikke vunnet gjennom å putte en lapp i en boks. Jeg har valgt et yrke der jeg hjelper de svakeste i samfunnet. Jeg er opptatt av dyrevern og miljøvern. Lat og naiv er det siste jeg er.

Er man ikke fornøyd med et system, må man jobbe med å forandre systemet. Gjentatt valgdeltakelse forandrer ikke en dritt. Det fremmer systemet. Styrker det.
Systemet du stemmer frem, er et system du ikke har noe inflytelse på etter at din lapp er avlevert. Så hva stemmer du frem? Er det greit å stemme på et parti fordi de er for human flyktningspolitikk, samtidig som de er for et fortsatt økonomisk sammarbeid med Kina? Hvor mange saker må man overse for å kunne sove godt om natten?
I mitt tilfelle: Ingen.
Er du fornøyd med systemet slik det er i dag? Er dine barn godt nok ivaretatt? din gamle mor? Ditt pykisk utviklingshemmede barn? Din kreftsyke mann?
Demokratiet vi lever i er undertrykkende, preget av korrupsjon og løgner.
Og jeg nekter å delta.

Jeg er 33 år og har aldri stemt. Jeg er stolt over at jeg i mitt politiske arbeid har oppnådd mere enn de fleste. Det finnes andre metoder.
Det er ditt valg.

Racism.
To some that word will instantly cause anger and irritation.
Not in the way you might think though. In Norway these days we have a huge part of the population who will react with irritation by reading or hearing the word "racist". They will claim that there is no such thing as racism in Norway, or anywhere else for that matter, they will state people who claim to have been exposed to it, are whining, weak, and milking the term for all it's worth.
Yes, in Norway we now have white people who will get pissed off at black people for being angry/hurt after being subjected to racism. This week, the black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr, was arrested for trying to get into his own home. A neighbour called the cops because she assumed the black man and his black friend were trying to break in to this house in this very posh neighbourhood. These people here in Norway write stuff like this: Oh my god, the police just did the job, oh my god the woman just reported a burglary, oh my god the black man was angry, yelling at the cop, he deserves to get arrested. The professor even identified him self with his Harvard ID, and the cop called up Harvard to verify..... If that professor had been white, with a white friend, the woman next door would know his face from before? The woman would not call the cops to report a white male. She would assume the white male had lost his key and was trying to get inside, she might even ask if he needed assistance. People....you see racism is ASSUMING something about an ethnic group. ASSUMING the only reason why a black man would be trying to get into posh house in a posh street, would be to rob it. There is no way round that fact. Racism is not only stating "I hate niggers" It's alot more complex. And racism is still very much alive all around us, and you must never, never let your self slip into that disgusting way of thinking. There is no racism in Norway? Tell that to my African friend who in her job as a trained nurse, mets patients who will refuse to let her touch them before she cleans her hands ONLY because she is black. Patients who will let her clean their asses, but not let her draw blood because they think she will give them AIDS. What would you call that if not racism? Would it only be racism if the patient said " I refuse to let you touch me before you clean your hands, nigger" ? Then and only then? I have been thinking lately maybe we need a new word, maybe the word racism is so potent, so harsh it's time to dig deep into the state pocket and pay some professor to come up with a new modern word, with less history and less emotion.
But no. This is what you are, this is how we see you, and that word must never change: A racist is a racist and we will never stop pointing our fingers at you. That, dear people of Norway, is what you get for being shallow human beings.

In the need of god

This is not a blog about the late Michael Jackson, it is how ever a blog about mankind's never ending need for gods, their never ending need to have someone/something lead their life insead of doing it by own hands.
Professor Hans Fredrik Dahl published an article today's Dagbladet, and he more or less summed up what I have been thinking the last couple of weeks.

Life is not a mystery to those of you who spend your life floating around thinking about getting your hair done, or how to color coodinate your 2.5 children. Life is not a mystery to those of you who go to church every sunday and to those of you who celebrate christmas, get married in church, or claim to not be a believer in any gods. But under the surface there dwells a fear, a fear of the unknown, a fear of death. but you never go there, oh no. You never talk about that fear. Maybe it sneaks its way into your monthly nightmare, or maybe it flashes before your eyes the second before you switch channels to avoid the horrible story about protesters being killed in Iran. Actually most of you will spend all your life avoiding anything that makes you wonder or explore this mystical think called life. Why?

Because of your fear of death. Running around like mice, breeding, fucking your partner, traveling to Spain, putting your parents in a home, expanding your house, getting promoted, looking forward to retirement, then and only then will you be relaxing and living the life you allways wanted. Not once realizing retirement means death is close. But when someone you idolize dies, his/her face will pop in grilled cheese, in vegetables, in trees, you will see them in the local diner (being incognito), you will receive messages from the other side: The idol is here! He walks with us! Not even fucking Elvis is dead. Never. Noone ever dies. Not even you. Worship the new god!

When people like Elvis, Diana or Michael die there is a mass conception, a mass suggestion that your collective mourning and idolizing will keep them alive. Keep you alive. It's classic transference. It's a 21st century death cult revival. It's the oldest of cliches: It's not me - It's you.

Trust me.
Death will come.

Adding and subtracting - Mutilation or Modification.

For years I've had a deep interest in what is known as Amputee identity disorder. I've spent so much time reading up on the matter, and my thoughts has in the latter years changed. I used to view it as a paraphilia, a sexual fetish for deviant people. But upon gaining more knowledge, it dawned on me it has little to do with sexuality and I do no longer consider it as a form of identity disorder. For those who are new to the matter at hand: A wannabe amputee will go to great lengths to remove a limb he/she feels is not a part of their body. Usually a leg from the knee down, but also the removal of male genitalia varying from testicles to full scale nullification removing the penis it self. Some cut of a fingertip, some cut of fingers, toes and so on. It is important to state that I am not talking about the aesthetic modification or the sexual modification, that is a whole different blog. I am talking about the people who from as young as 5-6 years old will use astonishing amounts of time and effort in pursuing their main goal; to become hole through subtracting.

To make my point I want to talk about gender, transsexualism, and identity. In Norwegian we only have one word for man and woman, English language has gender and sex. Gender identity disorder, or as most know it, transsexuals, will from a very young age have a distinct feeling of being born in the wrong body, identifying with the opposite physical sex: Having a male body, and a female mind or the other way around. These people will suffer a great deal growing up fighting feelings of homosexuality, isolation and gender confusion. Some will also engage in what most would interpret as mutilation of their female or male body. Thankfully they now will get professional help with this prossess through years of therapy, medication and extensive surgery. The last 20 years or so has removed some of the stigma of transsexualism, and it is now by most of the western modern world viewed as a medical condition with biological factors, not a mental disorder.

The wannabe amputees are not so lucky however. They suffer under the lingering opinion of society in general: The human body is perfect only if not altered. If altered it is sign of mental illness. Identity cannot be as individual as one might want. Removing the genitals is a valid act of modification, only because the result it self if familiar to us: Man or woman. It's easy to relate to. But to understand someone who desperately wants to remove their leg to feel whole, for those who cannot live a normal life without waking up with feelings of disgust and physical torture, those who would rather bleed half to death than live with that limb, that is very difficult to relate to and we condemn it as a mental disorder, we refuse them the help they so desperately seek. I don't have the numbers and I'm sure none does. But many has died from self inflicted amputations or from the hands of people with little or no medical training. These people get exploited by cynicals who are in it for easy money.(Very few professionals offer help.) These people will spend years causing them self massive amounts of pain and infections all contributing to severe depression sometimes resulting in suicide. I've read about young men using pocket knifes to slowly cut off their testicles in the high school bathroom with no anaesthetics, little by little, for years suffering insane amounts of pain. I've read about men hacking into their knee caps and filling the wounds with faeces to cause infections, cutting of blood circulations to the point of loosing consciousness in hope to cause such a serious infection leaving no option but amputation. Some use shoot guns, others use chain saws. And when they are found or when they seek professional medical help, they are stitched up and put under psychiatric care for a month or two, and then they are back on their own starting all over again. Society would rather see these people die than acknowledge the fact that identity is not limited, very complex and highly individual. I strongly believe that the biological factors are present and will be located in the future.

One can argue that they are seeking perfection, can self inflicted handicaps be perfection? Transsexuals who remove their penis of their vagina cause the body a handicap. Why is removing a leg a less valid intention? Why is removing any body part so controversial? Adding to the body is not. Implants of various sorts, adding jewellery, pumping up lips, bottoms and abs. The only socially accepted form of removal is sucking out fat, and that is because the result again is something the majority of society finds pleasing: the perfect human shape. Beauty should always be in the eyes of the beholder. Another comman argument is this is just another metod of suicidal behaviour, self mutilation. But these people only get suicidal because they are denied help, they only inflict pain and wounds because no one else will help them. They don't want pain, they don't death. They are not mentally confused, they can locate the problem and point it out, look here it is, please help me. I want to be hole through subtracting.

As with any body modification, I would recommend using time to find the answers. Through therapy and through professional guidance. I really do hope that the future will treat the wannabe amputees with the same respect and decency as transsexuals. Many will die while we wait. Challenge your views on identity. Ask your self: "Who am I? Who am I willing to let others be?" What is the core of identity? And who is the only one who can and must define the word and it's meaning? You.

Dette er bare nok en sak i den lange rekken av saker der amerikanske soldater går amok.

Jeg vil skrive litt om forskjellige årsaker til hvorfor dette skjer, og det er mange årsaker.

I USA er det frivillig militærtjeneste,det vil si at kun de som ønsker seg inn .

Det i seg selv er positivt da vi unngår situasjonen slik den er i Norge der mange blir tvunget til å bruke et år av livet sitt på å lære å drepe mot sin vilje, og risikerer fengsel for totalnekt.

Men situasjonen er ikke så enkel i statene. Det har vært en stigende kurve av fattige og arbeidsløse som verver seg. Militæret oppsøker faktisk fattige områder og verver aktivt med garantier for god lønn, og en fremtid. Mange verver seg fordi de ikke har noen andre muligheter, ikke fordi de ønsker å delta i krig, eller fordi de er patrioter. Reslutatet av dette er blandt annet at mange fattige og arbeidsledige blir utsatt for groteske traumer, og om de overlever så returnerer mange av de til hjemlandet med en gavepakke i form av psykisk sykdom, mere arbeidsledighet, mere fattigdom, økt kriminalitet og flere drap.

Kort sagt: de sender desperate mennesker ut i krig, lærer de å å håndtere våpen, lærer de å drepe, sender de hjem men lærer de ingenting om å leve med det de har sett og gjort. Desperate mennesker med våpenkunnskap og posttraumatisk stress er en gavepakke til et folk allerede preget av forfall. I kjølvannet av den økonomiske krisen i USA ser man nå en sterk økning av mennesker som verver seg, også en økning av folk som har dimmet som verver seg på ny. De får ikke jobb, de har ikke økonomi til å klare seg og lønnen er svært god i militæret, for ikke å glemme bonusen de får om de verver seg på $40.000 (som nå blir redusert pga den økonomiske krisen, og fordi folk verver seg i større grad) Listen på hvem som blir godkjent er kjent for å ligge høyt, men denne har også blitt senket pga behov for soldater. Det fører til at kravene til psykisk og fysisk helse blir lavere og mennsker som ikke burde være soldater, dessverre blir det og konsekvensene er nettopp massedrap og voldtekt av sivilie. Krig en ekstrem påkjenning for selv trente soldater med god mental helse. Når man slipper løs unge, og fra før ustabile mennesker i ekstreme situasjoner, ber man om trøbbel. En vietnam veteran sa at kan husker kun det første drapet. Man husker øynene, redselen, blodet. Etter det, er det lettere og neste rutine. Å lære å drepe er vanskelig for mennesker, vi er ikke programert til å drepe uten store vansker, men denne mentale grensen blir flyttet når man man gjentatte ganger tar liv. Virkeligheten viskes ut. Å leve med drapene man har begått er en helt annen sak. Svært mange får alvorlige psykiske problemer resten av livet, og alle løftene fra lederene i hjemlandet lar vente på seg. America vil få et enormt problem når dette virkelig treffer hjemlandet i full styrke.

Når patriotismen sakte skaller av og folket føler intenst hat mot lederene og føler de har mistet sine barn , ektefeller og foreldre i en krig basert på løgn, holder det ikke med en billig medalje. America vil se mye raseri, mye psykisk sykdom, økt kriminalitet, økt alkohol of dopmissbruk, økt opprør, økt arbeidsledighet og økt rekrutering til gjenger (hvem passer bedre inn i Ms-13 enn en mentalt fucked mann uten moralske grenser og med god våpenkunnskap.Det snakkes også om at gjenger sender sine medlemmer nettopp for at de skal få denne treningen). Senvirkningene og ringvirkningene vil være omfattende. Krigen i Usa er ikke på langt nær over.

Ordet som makt

Når kan vi som mennesker fastslå at en mening er rett eller uriktig? Kan vi egentlig kun snakke om etisk riktige meninger?

Fritt Ord har denne gangen gitt prisen til noen som er svært provoserene for mange. Hun er samtidig svært populær blandt andre. Å tildele noen en pris har en sterk psykologisk effekt både på den som mottar den og på de som observerer tildelningen av prisen. Mennesker har en helt egen evne til å sidestille ordet "tildelning" med det å "rettferdiggjøre" eller å "godkjenne".

Det er ikke altid tilfellet. Og ikke minst er dette uriktig med tanke på Fritt Ord.

Denne personen har fått tildelt prisen for sin deltakelse, ikke for sin overbevisning.

Fritt Ord er ikke en instutisjon for korrekt etisk ytring, det er ikke en høyborg som skal være moralens fyrtårn for mennesker. Å anta dette er å tilegne Fritt Ord egenskaper de slettes ikke har. En ytring alene er harmløs, blir den ytret av flere og støttet av mange, får den makt og betydning. Men får den samme ytringen motpoler, så oppstår det debatt. Og det er denne prosessen som skaper tanker, nye vinklinger og forståelse og kunnskap. Det finnes tidspunkter i denne prosessen som kan være sårbare, og disse oppstår når en av fløyene i debatten vinner grunn og får fotfeste for sine ytringer og overbevisninger, samtidig som motparten får oppmerksomhet som feks å få tildelt en pris som Fritt Ord. Mange går da rett i fellen ved å anta at motparten sine meninger og ytringer automatisk, nesten magisk, vil smitte over på resten av befolkningen som man trodde var i ens hule hånd. Det oppstår en frykt for at motparten på underlig vis ved hjelp av sin tildelte pris, kan svinge tryllestaven og forvandle menneskers meninger. Vips. Så har man gjort selvstendig tenkende mennesker om til tankeløse, handlingslammede zombier som går i offerflokk rett i gapet på den eneveldende motparten.

Man frykter, ja man mener faktisk at dette øyeblikket har revet ned alt man har bygget opp gjennom alle år med kamp om rettigheter og likestilling. At ens meninger og overbevisning står i fare for...ja....for å bli uriktige?

Jeg lever tenker ikke slik. Jeg mener faktisk at en offentliggjørelse av motparten er utelukkende fruktbar og nyttig. Fordi jeg er trygg på at min mening er den rette for meg, og jeg er trygg på at andre mennesker jeg respekterer og ønsker å ha med på laget, er like trygg på seg selv. Jeg tror ikke at en pris vil utslette mine meningskamerater, eller smitte de med en etisk svineinfluensa.

Til slutt vil jeg si litt om etisk rett og etisk urett. Man kan brenne sterkt for en sak, og ha en lidenskapelig overbevisning om at nettopp dine meninger er etisk riktig. Men det finnes ikke noe etisk rett og etisk galt. Vi kan ikke kreve at vår overbevisning skal gjelde for alle. Noen mennesker mener homofile er syke, noen mener jøder er svin, noen mener at Norge er for Nordmenn. Dette har de rett til og lov til å mene. Din jobb er å være trygg nok på deg selv og dine meninger til å stå stødig i en debatt og ikke miste fotfestet. Din jobb er å ta vare på de du forsvarer og kjemper for gjennom å betrygge, forsikre og realitetsporientere. Din jobb er ikke å kneble mostanderen, eller frata han/henne en pris. Din jobb er ikke å skrike høyt i panikk og raseri. Din jobb er ikke å vise frykt for egen sak. Jeg vil avslutte med et sitat jeg bærer med meg i alt:
